On January 6, 2021, Officer Howie Liebengood was on duty when a violent mob attacked the U.S. Capitol to prevent the certification of the 2020 Presidential election results. He died by suicide, an epidemic in law enforcement, two days later. Officer Liebengood served as a Capitol Police officer for 15 years, the majority of that time was with the Senate Division
