Sergeant Christopher Eney was accidentally shot and killed during a Department training exercise. Sergeant Eney was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a medic with the Green Berets in the Vietnam War. He served with the Department for 12 years, was an original member and team leader of the Containment Emergency Response Team (CERT), and was assigned to the House Plainclothes Division where he provided security in the House Galleries.
