John Erickson Assistant Chief of Police for Uniformed Operations

Assistant Chief John Erickson has served as the Assistant Chief of Police for Uniformed Operations since April of 2026. He joined the USCP in 1990 and was later promoted to the rank of sergeant with the House Division in 2006. Two years later, Assistant Chief Erickson was promoted to lieutenant and worked as the assistant commander of the Dignitary Protection Division. After being promoted to captain in 2011, he became the assistant commander for the Capitol Division and the Special Operations Division until being promoted to inspector in 2019. As inspector, Assistant Chief Erickson served as the commander of the Special Operations Division and the Senate Division. In 2021, he oversaw the Uniformed Services Bureau before leading the Operational Services Bureau. Assistant Chief Erickson has been acknowledged for his distinguished service as the commander of the Presidential Inauguration Task Force in 2021, as well as in an advisory role to the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies for the 2017 Presidential Inauguration.
