R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue, NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect returned no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 02/20/2024 9:30am 240220000374 R/O responded to a Library of Congress building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported securing their scooter to the bike rack at First Street and Independence Avenue SE at approximately 0655 hours and upon returning at 1430 hours, discovered the scooter missing. An immediate canvas of the area yielded negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + NO PERMIT | DCC 50DC1401.01 | DCC 50DC1401.01(D) 02/19/2024 4:56pm 240219000373 R/O observed a vehicle, with a loud and modified muffler, that travelled southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES check revealed an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. An NCIC check revealed the suspect did not have a valid driver's license in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia. R/O conducted an inventory search of the vehicle, and located a metallic pipe, in plain view, with an orange tinge green leafy substance, on the end of the center console. Due to a suspicion of impairment, SFST's were conducted. As a result of numerous signs of impairment, the suspect was also charged with DUI. The suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE + RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY | DC 22DC3232 | USCLSUSC514.110 | USC 22DC3232 NO PERMIT | DCC 50DC1401.01 | DCC 50DC1401.01(D) 02/19/2024 4:25pm 240219000372 R/O observed a vehicle that travelled eastbound in the Unit Block of E Street NE. The vehicle made an abrupt left turn, and nearly collided with R/O's cruiser. A traffic stop was conducted in the 900 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of the District of Columbia. In addition, R/O observed that the vehicle's ignition was also damaged. Furthermore, a WALES/NCIC check revealed the suspect did not have a valid driver's license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 02/18/2024 9:01pm 240218000362 R/O observed a vehicle that travelled at a high rate of speed southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. The Suspect's vehicle continued westbound in the Unit Block of D Street NW, through a solid red signal at the intersection of Second and D Streets NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of D Street NW. Upon approach, R/O noticed a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted; due to the numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
NO PERMIT 02/18/2024 5:35pm 240218000366 Officer Karapetyan (SOD-1) observed a vehicle with a broken tail light and an expired registration sticker, and travelled westbound in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A Wales/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed the registration was expired, and the Suspect had a suspended driver's license out of Virginia, with no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. (ms/ks)
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF 02/18/2024 10:36pm 240218000363 Officers Hering and Karapetyan (SOD-1) responded for a single vehicle crash at the intersection of South Capitol and D Streets SE. Upon approach, R/O and A/O observed the Suspect who stood outside the vehicle with clear disabling front end damage due to collision with a USCP traffic barricade. R/O observed that the Suspect had slurred speech, blood shot red eyes, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted; due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. (fj)

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of D Street NW. Upon approach, R/O observed that the Suspect had blood shot red eyes, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted; due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | DCC 50DC2206.11 + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL | DCC 25DC1001 02/17/2024 7:46pm 240217000356 R/O observed a vehicle driving in the 400 North Capitol Street NW with expired tags. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed tags were expired. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the Suspect's vehicle. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed that the Suspect's speech was rapid and their pupils were dilated. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle revealed an open container of an alcoholic beverage.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 2ND Off | DCC 50DC2201.05[B]1[B] X + PERMIT REVOKED-OAR | DCC 50DC1403.01[3] X + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS | DCMR 18DCMR1101.1 02/16/2024 11:08am 20240216000354 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW with no front tag and an expired Maryland tag on the rear of the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tag was not on file. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O detected an overwhelming odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and observed numerous marijuana joints in the vehicle ashtray. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the suspect's license was revoked in the District of Columbia with no status in Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene.
