U.S. Capitol Police Arrest 80 Demonstrators

This afternoon, beginning at approximately 2 p.m., the United States Capitol Police (USCP) responded to 13 locations in the House and Senate Office Buildings for reported demonstration activity.

After officers arrived at the numerous scenes, they warned the demonstrators to cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities. Those who refused to cease and desist were placed under arrest and charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.

As of 4:30 p.m., a total of 80 arrests have been made and the arrestees are currently being processed:

House Office Buildings -- 21 total arrests: 10 adult males and 11 adult females

Senate Office Buildings -- 59 total arrests: 22 adult males and 37 adult females
