Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) annual memorial service has been canceled this year.

Instead, the Department is honoring the four USCP officers who died in the line of duty with an online tribute in conjunction with Peace Officers' Memorial Day on May 15.

"Much has changed in our world in just a short amount of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic," said Chief of Police Steven A. Sund. "However, it is important that we take a moment to pause and remember the Capitol Police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. These four law enforcement officers were self-sacrificing individuals who embodied what is right about law enforcement, and what is noble about the U.S. Capitol Police mission. Please join me in remembering these men and in keeping their families in your thoughts and prayers."

The Department also will observe a Moment of Silence in their honor on May 15.
