USCP Announces New Director of Intelligence

March 10, 2022

Today, United States Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Tom Manger announced the selection of Ravi Satkalmi as the USCP's new Director of Intelligence.

Since 2016, Mr. Satkalmi has served as the NYPD's Deputy Director for Intelligence Analysis before being promoted to Director in 2021.

"Ravi Satkalmi has more than a decade of national security, intelligence and law enforcement experience," said Chief Manger. "He has a proven track record of building strong teams, leading during crises and driving critical change."

At the NYPD, Mr. Satkalmi managed a team of investigators whose work led to numerous successful counterterrorism prosecutions.

He also helped establish the department's efforts to counter domestic extremism.

As the Director of Intelligence and the Department's Intelligence and Interagency Coordination Division, Mr. Satkalmi will lead the team that provides intelligence and analysis about terrorism and threats against the United States Congress and the U.S. Capitol complex.

Mr. Satkalmi will use his close law enforcement relationships to continue our improved coordination with the intelligence and law enforcement communities to carry out the USCP's critical mission.

He starts next month.

"This is another big step to expand and build upon our growing intelligence and protective capabilities," said Chief Manger. "We applaud the work of Acting Director Julie Farnam and the USCP intelligence team, which has been working for more than a year to improve the way we gather, analyze and distribute intelligence."

Ms. Farnam will continue to serve as the Assistant Director of the Division.
