FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE 2:31:00 250127000229 R/O observed a vehicle driving with one operable headlight in the 400 Block of South Capitol Street SW. R/O then observed the vehicle turn without stopping through a solid red light at the intersection of South Capitol and M Streets SW. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed and proceeded to drive through multiple solid red lights without caution. The vehicle was last seen driving westbound entering the 400 Block of M Street SW. Shortly thereafter, the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia informed the USCP that the vehicle was involved in an accident and the driver was arrested on multiple charges, to include Reckless Driving, Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol, and No Permit. CIS will continue to investigate.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES + 15:12:00 250127000234 R/O was approached by the Suspect at the South Door of the U.S. Capitol Building. The Suspect made statements of being in possession of several items that were prohibited on U.S. Capitol Grounds and requested to be taken into custody. A search incident to the arrest revealed two bottles of improvised Molotov cocktails, and a folding knife inside of the Suspect's pockets. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS conducted a custodial interview and will continue to investigate.
FAILURE TO APPEAR + NO PERMIT, COUNTERFEIT TAGS 21:35:00 250127000237 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound on Second Street SW displaying what appeared to be a counterfeit tag. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tag belonged to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Second Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended Florida license with no valid status in the District of Columbia, and an active bench warrant issued by the D.C. Superior court. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
