AMMUNITION NO PERMIT - 2ND OFFENSE ALTERED REG. | 11:56:00 | 260531001771 | R/O observed a vehicle travelling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags were expired, although it had the current year's sticker affixed to them. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of M Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Maryland and no driving status the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a handgun loaded with five (5) rounds in the magazine was discovered in a bag under the drivers seat. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect. The individual admitted to owning the handgun. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit revealed the individual does not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. | |
| CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) + POSS. OF UNREG. FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSS. OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS. OF UNREG. AMMUNITION DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE 1ST OFF | 1:37:00 | 260425001321 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and make multiple infractions in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was initiated in the 800 Block of North Capitol Street NE. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect eyes were glassy, bloodshot red and slurred speech. R/O also detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects person. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. The Suspect alerted R/O of two magazines and a 40-caliber gun in the center console. R/O inspected the center console and observed the grip of a pistol wrapped in a belly band. R/O stopped the inventory search and called for Crime Scene. CSS responded and processed the scene. CID was notified. The recovered firearm was described as a black 40 caliber Beretta APX handgun. One 10-round magazine was inserted into the handgun, loaded with nine live rounds of 40 caliber ammunition. Two additional magazines contained 10 rounds and 7 rounds .40 S&W. A query through MPD Gun Registration Unit confirm the Suspect did not maintain a license to carry and the gun was not registered in the District of Columbia. | |
| POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF LARGE CAPACITY FEEDING DEVICE, CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE, POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE | 10:58:00 | 260224000530 | R/O observed an individual enter the North Door of the U.S. Capitol Police Headquarters and placed their bag through the x-ray machine. An image on the x-ray screen appeared to be a loaded magazine. An administrative search of the Individual's bag revealed a magazine containing sixteen rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition. S/A responded to the scene. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the individuala's firearm was stored at their hotel. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit revealed the individual did not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-1 and A/O-2 responded and processed the scene. | |
| UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES + CARRYING A DANGEROUS WEAPON (CDW) POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF FIREARMS | 12:20:00 | 260217000452 | R/O was approached by two witnesses at Peace Circle who stated they observed an individual wearing camouflage and tactical clothing, carrying what appeared to be a long gun, running along the Maryland Avenue walkway towards the U.S. Capitol Building. R/O responded to the Lower West Terrace and observed A/O giving the Suspect verbal commands to drop their weapon. R/O and A/O-2 gained control of the Suspect, who was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and recovered a 12-gauge shotgun containing seven (7) rounds in the tube and one (1) round in the chamber. Additionally, seventeen (17) loose rounds of shotgun ammunition were located in the Suspect's tactical vest pouch. CIS conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect. During the interview, the Suspect admitted to driving from Georgia to the District of Columbia with his shotgun. | |

AMMO, PRESENT IN VEHICLE CONTAINING GUN, POSS.POSS. W / I TO DIST MARIJUANA - MISD, etc. | 09:49:00 | 260206000331 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW displaying an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of E Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Maryland with no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a handgun with one round chambered and two magazines were recovered from the center console. The barrel length of the handgun was less the 12 inches expelling projectiles by means of explosion. CSS responded and processed the scene. A WALES/NCIC check on grip and slide serial numbers of the handgun came back stolen out of Baltimore County, Maryland and Houston, Texas. The Metropolitan Police Gun Registration Unit results came back negative for a permit or any registered firearm. Two clear bags containing 3.6 ounces of marijuana were located in the rear passenger side door. While in processing, one container with 15 green pills was discovered on the Suspect. CSS tested the pills which came back positive for Oxycodone. CIS conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect. | |
| NO PERMIT - SECOND OFFENSE + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (CPWL) UNREGISTERED FIREARM UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 9:22:00 | 260203000300 | R/O observed a vehicle displaying an expired registration in the 1200 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a bag containing a shotgun, eleven 12 gauge shells and twenty 40 caliber bullets was discovered behind the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS conducted a custodial interview of the Suspect. | |
| UNREGISTERED FIREARM + UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 17:11:00 | 251119003519 | R/O-1 discovered an empty handgun holster while performing an administrative search in the Capitol Visitor Center. CIS responded for further investigation. Upon further investigation, the Suspect claimed that they had a handgun in their hotel room. The Suspect consented to a search of the hotel room and signed a written consent form. SOD & CIS responded to the hotel to conduct the search. During the search, a .45 caliber Sig Sauer was found with ten rounds of .45 caliber ammunition. Two additional feeding devices were found in a leather shoulder holster both containing eight rounds of ammunition. At approximately 1711 hours, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE | 8:12:00 | 250312000702 | R/O while working a door of the Capitol Building, performed an administrative search on the Suspect's backpack and located nine rounds of 9mm ammunition in the front pouch. While detained, the Suspect spontaneously uttered that he had a firearm in his vehicle. CSS responded to process the scene. The vehicle was located, searched, and a firearm was recovered. A query through the District of Columbia Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not have a valid license to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia, however the Suspect did provide a state of Maryland license to carry a firearm. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS responded and conducted a custodial interview. | |
| POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION + PRESENT IN MOTOR VEHICLE CONTAINING FIREARM POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE | 21:36:00 | 250227000549 | R/O was working at a security screening post at a Senate Office Building. The Suspect alarmed the walkthrough metal detector and R/O began secondary screening using a hand-held metal detector. The hand-held metal detector alarmed on the Suspect's left leg cargo pocket. When R/O attempted to search the pocket, the Suspect attempted to leave the screening area. The Suspect was informed by R/O that he could not leave until screening was completed, and a loaded firearm magazine was discovered after the Suspect removed it from his pocket. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. The Suspect's vehicle was discovered parked in a parking lot, which is located on U.S. Capitol Grounds. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Canine Unit, who are specially trained to detect firearms, responded to the lot to conduct a search of the exterior of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the vehicle, and a search for firearms was then conducted by CSS, who discovered two magazines, additional loose 40 caliber ammunition, and a firearm within the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the firearm revealed that it was not registered in the District of Columbia. CIS responded to Headquarters, interviewed the Suspect, and confirmed via MPD Gun Registration Unit that the Suspect does not maintain a license to carry in the District of Columbia. | |
| CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE (X2) POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 21:35:00 | 250204000308 | R/O conducted an administrative search of a vehicle, with the consent of the driver, as it attempted to enter the South Barricade of the U.S. Capitol Building. During the course of the search, R/O discovered a handgun loaded with a 12-round magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition and a separate 15-round magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition. S/A verified through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit that the driver of the vehicle had no permit to carry a firearm within the District of Columbia nor was there record of a firearm or any associated ammunition registered under the driver's name. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
