| CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) 2015 | DCC 22DC4504(A)-Y-3 + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE | DCC 7DC2502.01 POSSESSION OF UNREG | 21:15:39 | 240110000061 | R/O was working a vehicle checkpoint at Second and East Capitol Streets SE when an individual approached the R/O asking about the laws regarding carrying a firearm in the District of Columbia. The individual admitted to having a firearm in their vehicle. The Suspect was detained, and a search of the Suspect's vehicle revealed a firearm and a loaded magazine with ten rounds of ammunition and one round in the chamber. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect, revealed the firearm was unregistered and they did not possess a license to carry firearms in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS responded and interviewed the Suspect. | |
| TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARARYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD. | 01:09:00 | 2307240001731 | R/O observed a vehicle pass through a solid red traffic light at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Louisiana Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O detected a moderate odor of alcohol emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O-1 located a firearm within a bag placed on the passenger seat. A/O-2 responded to process the scene. Further examination revealed the firearm had ammunition loaded into its magazine. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the firearm was not registered in the District of Columbia. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| UNREG FIREARM - MISD + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREGISTERED AMMO - MISD UNLAWFUL ACTIVIES | 16:34:00 | 230714001644 | R/O responded to the intersection of First and East Capitol Streets for the report of a theft from auto. The initial interview with the Complainant revealed the Complainant confessed to being in possession of a firearm inside of the vehicle. A/O confirmed there was a firearm in the glove box along with a South Carolina permit. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. An inquiry from the MPD Gun Registration Unit revealed the weapon was not registered in the District of Columbia. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed one round in the chamber, five rounds in the seven capacity magazine and an additional box containing twelve rounds of ammunition located in the center console. CIS responded to Headquarters to continue the investigation. | |
| CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UNREG AMMO - MISD UNREG FIREARM - MISD POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE x 2 | 02:52:00 | 230711001610 | R/O observed a vehicle with an individual asleep at the wheel while traveling south bound in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. While speaking with the driver, A/O detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's vehicle. SFST's were conducted by A/O and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, A/O discovered four loaded high capacity magazines and an unloaded firearm. CSS responded and processed the scene. CID was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY FEEDING DEVICE. | 14:12:00 | 230626001487 | R/O was at the North Screening Entrance of the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center when an individual entered and placed their bag through the x-ray machine. R/O immediately identified what appeared to be a firearm on the x-ray screen and stopped the screening process. R/O identified the owner of the bag and detained the Suspect. A/O responded, processed the scene, and recovered a firearm with a large capacity magazine with ammunition. The Suspect advised that they did not have a permit to carry in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD | 05:35:00 | 230508000997 | R/O was at the Longworth South Capitol Street Door when an individual entered the building and placed their bag through the X-ray machine. R/O observed an image of what appeared to be a gun from that same bag. R/O conducted a physical inspection of the bag and observed a firearm inside along with a ten round capacity magazine loaded with 4 rounds. An inquiry through the MPD - Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a concealed firearm in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS-1 and CSS-2 responded and processed the scene. S/A responded and continued the investigation. |
