POSSESSION OF PROHIBITED WEAPON - OTHER (x2) 23:54:00 250328000912 R/O observed an individual that appeared to be asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 100 Block of Third Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. While attempting to wake the driver, R/O observed what appeared to be a revolver tucked in the area of the center console. R/O secured the driver and requested CSS process the scene. A search of the vehicle revealed two loaded BB guns charged with CO2 cartridges along with 13 additional CO2 cartridges and a bottle of approximately 6000 BB pellets. When questioned about the weapons, the driver stated they were intended for self-defense. Suspect arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing.
POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE 8:12:00 250312000702 R/O while working a door of the Capitol Building, performed an administrative search on the Suspect's backpack and located nine rounds of 9mm ammunition in the front pouch. While detained, the Suspect spontaneously uttered that he had a firearm in his vehicle. CSS responded to process the scene. The vehicle was located, searched, and a firearm was recovered. A query through the District of Columbia Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not have a valid license to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia, however the Suspect did provide a state of Maryland license to carry a firearm. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS responded and conducted a custodial interview.
POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION PRESENT IN MOTOR VEHICLE CONTAINING FIREARM 21:52:00 250310000679 R/O and A/O responded to 300 H Street NE for a call of a person with a firearm inside of a vehicle. While on scene, R/O approached the vehicle in question and advised the Suspect to step out to which he complied. A/O asked the Suspect if there any weapons inside of the vehicle. The Suspect stated there was a .22 caliber rifle inside the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, a gun bag containing a shotgun was found. CSS responded and processed the scene. A pump shotgun, bolt action rifle, 100 rounds of 12 gauge and .22LR ammunition were found in the rear seat floorboard. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES + POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE POSSESSING A FIREARM ON CAPITOL GROUNDS 9:12:00 250304000588 R/O observed the Suspect place a backpack through the X-ray screening post in a House Office Building ADA Door. R/O observed an apparent handgun on the X-ray monitor. The Suspect was detained by A/O, while R/O conducted a physical searh of the backpack. R/O discovered a handgun with a 15 round capacity magazine loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was notified and conducted an inquiry with MPD Gun Registration Unit which revealed the Suspect has an active Concealed Carry License for the District of Columbia, and the firearm has a valid registration.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES + POSSESSION OF BB GUN 14:22:00 250304000590 R/O was alerted by A/O of a Suspect in the Lower Senate Park with what appeared to be a pistol in their possession. The Suspect was stopped and investigation revealed the Suspect was in possession of a pistol-shaped self-defense mace spray gun. CSS responded to recover the weapon and process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was contacted and will continue to investigate.
NO PERMIT + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) FELON IN POSSESSION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 0:38:00 250303000572 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 100 Block of H Street NE fail to maintain its lane by driving over a lane divider. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of H Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's Maryland Drivers Permit revealed a suspended status through Maryland, with no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, a pistol with a high-capacity magazine loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition was located within the center console. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was contacted and confirmed through MPD's gun registry that the Suspect did not have a firearm registered to him, nor a license to carry in the District of Columbia. Additionally, a law enforcement database check revealed that the Suspect had previously been convicted of a felony.
FELON IN POSS OF A FIREARM + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE POSS OF UNREGISTERED AMMO POSS OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSS OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE PRESENT IN MOTOR VEHICLE CONTAINING FIREARM UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES 13:45:00 250228000555 TAS and CIS met with a Suspect in the Unit Block of D Street SW to serve a Barring Notice from Senate Office Buildings. During the course of questioning, the Suspect admitted they had a firearm in their vehicle. While conducting an investigative search of the vehicle, TAS located a firearm underneath the driver's seat. An inquiry through MPD Gun Registry Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION + PRESENT IN MOTOR VEHICLE CONTAINING FIREARM POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE 21:36:00 250227000549 R/O was working at a security screening post at a Senate Office Building. The Suspect alarmed the walkthrough metal detector and R/O began secondary screening using a hand-held metal detector. The hand-held metal detector alarmed on the Suspect's left leg cargo pocket. When R/O attempted to search the pocket, the Suspect attempted to leave the screening area. The Suspect was informed by R/O that he could not leave until screening was completed, and a loaded firearm magazine was discovered after the Suspect removed it from his pocket. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. The Suspect's vehicle was discovered parked in a parking lot, which is located on U.S. Capitol Grounds. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Canine Unit, who are specially trained to detect firearms, responded to the lot to conduct a search of the exterior of the vehicle. The K9 alerted to the vehicle, and a search for firearms was then conducted by CSS, who discovered two magazines, additional loose 40 caliber ammunition, and a firearm within the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the firearm revealed that it was not registered in the District of Columbia. CIS responded to Headquarters, interviewed the Suspect, and confirmed via MPD Gun Registration Unit that the Suspect does not maintain a license to carry in the District of Columbia.
NO PERMIT + MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAG CPWL OUTSIDE HOME OR BUSINESS 2nd OFFENSE POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED ANNUNITION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM 15:52:00 250219000450 R/O observed a vehicle in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW with a faulty rear brake light. A NCIC/WALES check on the vehicle's tag returned with nothing on file. R/O conducted traffic on that vehicle in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The suspect was placed under arrest. While conducting a vehicle inventory, R/O noticed a gun belt with an empty holster. The Suspect told the R/O that the gun is in the bag and that the gun belonged to his girlfriend. CSS recovered a Glock 17, three 10-round magazines loaded with 10 rounds and one loose round. Additional checks on the Suspect determined he is a convicted felon and R/O added additional charge. Suspect was transported to Headquarters and was interviewed by CIS. CIS confirmed via MPD Gun Registration Unit that the Suspect does not maintain a license to carry in the District of Columbia.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE (X2) POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION 21:35:00 250204000308 R/O conducted an administrative search of a vehicle, with the consent of the driver, as it attempted to enter the South Barricade of the U.S. Capitol Building. During the course of the search, R/O discovered a handgun loaded with a 12-round magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition and a separate 15-round magazine containing 11 rounds of ammunition. S/A verified through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit that the driver of the vehicle had no permit to carry a firearm within the District of Columbia nor was there record of a firearm or any associated ammunition registered under the driver's name. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
