CARRYING PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE - OUTSIDE HOME/BUSINESS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - MISD 19:25:00 2.40629E+11 R/O while on patrol was flagged down for a report of an unlawful entry of a vehicle in the 600 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The Complainant stated that when they returned to their vehicle an individual was in the vehicle then fled in a waiting vehicle. Also, the Complainant stated the Suspect left a gun on the passenger seat. A canvass of the area was met with negative results. A WALES/NCIC check of the gun's serial number revealed it was stolen out of Charles County, Maryland. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: CARRYING A LICENSED PISTOL IN A PROHIBITED LOCATION 8:33:00 2.4062E+11 R/O observed what appeared to be a firearm in the Suspect's backpack while going through screening. After further investigation, R/O confirmed there was a handgun inside of the Suspect's backpack. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and confirmed the Suspect's pistol was registered in the District of Columbia.
ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM - MISD 9:23:00 240527001343 R/O was approached by the Complainant in the 100 block of Second Street SW. The Complainant reported that the Suspect pointed a handgun at them and then fled the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound onto the ramp of Interstate 695. A canvass of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE 15:25:00 240510001162 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FELON IN POSSESSION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM / UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE NO PERMIT COUNTERFEIT TAGS FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE FAILURE TO APPEAR Officer Griffin (SOD-3) observed a vehicle that displayed an expired tag, and travelled westbound in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the vehicle revealed no registration on file. A WALES/NCIC of the Suspect revealed two confirmed outstanding warrants issued by the Queen Anne’s County Sherriff's Department, and the District of Columbia Superior Court. The records check also revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, Assisting Officer Seanor (SOD-3) observed a handgun in the cargo area. Technician Rojas (CCS) responded, and processed the scene. The recovered handgun was loaded with two rounds of ammunition. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. S/A Gonzalez (CIS) was notified, and will continue to investigate. (eb)
THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM 2:14:00 241000000000 R/O responded to 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE for a report of an individual with a gun. The Complainant stated they were approached by the Suspect who threatened to kill them while brandishing a handgun. A search of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION + POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON - OTHER BENCH WARRANT MISD 9:44:00 240409000000 R/O observed an unattended book bag outside of the Independence Avenue SE entrance of a Library of Congress Madison. R/O conducted an inspection of the contents and discovered over 100 loose rounds of ammunition along with a hatchet. The Suspect subsequently claimed the bag. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an outstanding bench warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registry Unit revealed the Suspect did not have a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to the scene, and recovered the evidence. CIS responded and will continue to investigate.
CARRYING PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE- OUTSIDE HOME/BUSINESS | DCC 22DC4504A1-Y-1 + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNLAWFUL POSSESION OF AMMUNITION | DCC 7DC2506.01(A) | DCC 7DC2506.01 UNLAWFUL POSSESION OF A FIREARM | DCC 22DC4503A1 | USC USCACT16-445SEC223 9:57:00 240401000000 R/O observed an individual place a backpack through the x-ray machine in the Sub-Basement Door of a Library of Congress Building. R/O then observed a weapon inside of the backpack. An administrative search of the backpack confirmed a loaded firearm with 11 rounds of ammunition. An inquiry with the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registry Unit confirmed the firearm was not registered in the District of Columbia nor did the Suspect hold a license for concealed carry. CSS responded and processed the firearm. CIS interviewed the Suspect before being transported to Headquarters for processing.
UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES 19:18:00 2.31205E+11 R/O responded to House Parking for an individual who was in possession of a firearm. Once on scene, the Suspect advised that they had a firearm in their bag. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the Suspect's wallet did not reveal a District of Columbia Concealed Carry Permit, but did reveal an Ohio State Concealed Firearm Permit, and an expired Maryland Handgun Permit. A/O-1 and A/O-2 responded and processed the scene, and recovered a .40 caliber pistol inside the Suspect's bag. S/A conducted an interview of the Suspect who revealed that they had a concealed carry permit through the District of Columbia. The Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit was notified, confirmed the Suspect had a valid District of Columbia Concealed Carry Permit, and that the firearm was registered.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | DCC 50DC2206.11 + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A LICENSED PISTOL WHILE IMPAIRED CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) 2015 | DCC 22DC4504(A)-Y-3 | DCC 22DC4504-Y-3 07:03:10 231111002619 R/O observed a vehicle that displayed an expired registration, and travelled southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of D Street NW. While speaking with the driver, R/O noticed a faint odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted on Suspect-1, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest. During the arrest, S-1 stated there was a firearm in the vehicle. A/O recovered a firearm on Suspect-2s person. Further investigation revealed the firearm was registered to S-1. A/O-1 and A/O-2 gave multiple commands to Suspect-3 to exit the vehicle, but they did not comply. A/O-2 attempted to arrest S-3, but they resisted by clenching their fists while holding both arms in front of their body. A/O-1 assisted and A/O-2 was able to successfully arrest S-3. A/O-1 observed and removed an empty bottle of alcoholic beverage, and a bag from S-3s person during arrest. CSS responded and processed the scene. CSS recovered a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield handgun magazine, that contained 8 rounds of 9mm ammunition from S-3s bag. CSS also recovered two 13-round magazines in the trunk of the vehicle. All three Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE - FELONY +ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFFICER - FELONY TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UUV - FELONY TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID UUV PASSENGER UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE - MISD R 07:17:00 231105000000 R/O observed a vehicle idling at a green light as traffic flowed around it in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle accelerated eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE before making a right into the 400 Block of First Street NE. R/O then observed the vehicle crash into the police barricade at First and D Streets NE and two Suspects subsequently flee the scene. One Suspect was apprehended in the 100 Block of C Street NE in close proximity to a handgun that was discovered in a flower bed outside of the C Street Door of a Senate Office Building. A/O apprehended the other Suspect in the 500 Block of Second Street NE. While at the scene of the crash, A/O observed a black handgun with an extended magazine on the passenger seat of the Suspects' vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen out of Prince George's County, Maryland. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect who drove the vehicle revealed the individual had no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. R/O attempted to conduct SFSTs on the Suspect who drove the vehicle but they could not be completed. However, the Suspect heavily slurred their words, which indicated the individual was a highly impaired driver based on R/O's experience. Both Suspects were transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS processed the firearms that were recovered and discovered the handgun found in the vehicle had an extended 22-round magazine containing 18 rounds of ammunition and one round in the chamber while the handgun found in the 100 Block of C Street NE had one round in the chamber, an auto sear, and indications that someone attempted to scratch out the serial number.
