CARRY PISTOL W/O LIC (MISD) + POSS. OF UNREGISTERED AMMO POSS. OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSS. OF A FIREARM OF DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS POSS. OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMO FEEDING DEVICE 17:47:00 2.41016E+11 R/O observed a vehicle driving eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW with no visible tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. Upon approach, R/O discovered two counterfeit temporary Florida tags. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags came back with no registration on file. The Suspect was told to step out of the vehicle so it could be towed, after which the Suspect stated that they were carrying a firearm. The Suspect was removed from the vehicle and a firearm loaded with a high capacity magazine with nine rounds of ammunition was discovered in a holster on their hip. The Metropolitan Police Department gun registry unit confirmed that the Suspect did not possess a District of Columbia carry license, nor was the firearm and ammunition registered in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene and CIS responded to interview the Suspect.
CARRY PISTOL W/OUT LIC, UUV, POSS OF UNREG AMMUNITION, POSS OF UNREG FIREARM, RECEIVING STOLEN PROP $1000 OR MORE, LEAVE AFTER COLLIDING - PROP DAMAGE ABSCONDER (CUSTODY ORDER), FLEE FROM POLICE 16:11:00 2.41E+11 R/O monitored a Metropolitan Police Dept radio transmission for a vehicle involved in an armed carjacking. R/O observed that vehicle traveling in the 500 Block of East Capitol Street at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic and passing through solid red signals. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of 17th St. and Independence Avenue SE and fled. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The Suspects drove to 22nd St and Independence Avenue SE and bailed out of the vehicle and foot pursuit ensued. Suspect 1 apprehended in grassy area of Anacostia Riverwalk. A/O observed Suspect 2 running under Whitney Young Bridge with a handgun. A/O ordered Suspect 2 to drop the gun. Suspect 2 dislodged the magazine of the gun and threw the magazine and gun into the river. Suspect 2 apprehended. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspects revealed an active arrest warrant held by DC Superior Ct. Suspects transported to HQ for processing. CIS notified.
DUI - 1ST OFF, CARRY PISTOL W/OUT LICENSE, CARRY PISTOL WHILE IMPAIRED, LEWD, INDECENT, OR OBSCENE ACTS, POSS OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALC, POSS OF UNREG FIREARM, UNLAWFUL POSS OF FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSS OF UNREG AMMUNITION 3:50:00 2.41E+11 R/O observed a vehicle come to an abrupt stop in the Unit Block of D Street NW. Shortly thereafter, the Suspect exited the driver's side of the vehicle and exposed their genitalia in clear view of R/O. A stop was immediately initiated. During the course of the stop, R/O could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted, which revealed multiple signs of impairment. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of an open container clearly labeled as an alcoholic beverage, as well as a handgun loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition. The Suspect did not possess a concealed carry pistol license issued through the District of Columbia. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE + NO PERMIT POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 12:13:00 2.41E+11 R/O observed a vehicle in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW with an expired rear registration tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications revealed a suspended Virginia permit with no status in Maryland or the District of Columbia. When asked if there were any weapons in the vehicle, the Suspect stated there was a firearm in the glove compartment. The Suspect was arrested and processed at HQ. CSS responded and located the firearm and two magazines with one magazine carrying eight (8) rounds. CIS conducted a check of the Metropolitan PD's gun registry, confirming the Suspect had no license to carry in the District of Columbia.
CARRY PISTOL OUTSIDE HOME/BUSINESS + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 19:17:00 2.40917E+11 R/O observed a vehicle drive through a solid red traffic light at Columbus Circle and Louisiana Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NE. During the course of the stop, the Suspect stated they were in possession of a firearm. The Suspect advised they had a handgun permit through Maryland, but no concealed carry license through the District of Columbia. CSS responded to process the scene. A 9mm handgun loaded with a 15-round magazine containing 12 rounds was confiscated. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE- 1ST OFF + AUTHORITY TO CARRY FIREARM IN CERTAIN PLACES FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES CARRYING A LICENSED PISTOL WHILE IMPAIRED 3:02:00 2.40915E+11 R/O observed a vehicle pass through a solid red light at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Second Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Second and C Streets SW. During the course of the stop, R/O noticed that the Suspect's eyes were watery and a strong odor of alcohol emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O discovered a firearm loaded with seven (7) rounds in the magazine and one (1) round in the chamber. CIS conducted a check of the Metropolitan Police Department's gun registry, which verified the Suspect has a valid concealed carry license for the District of Columbia. CSS responded and processed the scene.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE + POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION NO PERMIT UNLAWFUL TRANSPORTATION OR RECEIPT OF IMPORTED FIREARM POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 16:14:00 240911002353 R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW displaying expired vehicle registration stickers. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Second Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Alabama, with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect advised R/O of two firearms in the vehicle. CSS responded to process the scene. A loaded .22 caliber handgun with an inserted magazine with 18 rounds of ammunition, and a black 9mm handgun were located. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified.
NO PERMIT + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION 4:10:00 240908002322 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration traveling westbound in the 300 Block of H Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of H Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver had a suspended Maryland operator's permit with no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest. During an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O discovered a loaded firearm containing seven (7) rounds in the magazine and one (1) round in the chamber. The firearm was inside a bag within reach of both the vehicle's driver and passenger, but neither held a concealed carry license issued through the District of Columbia. Furthermore, the firearm was not registered to either individual, which was verified by CIS upon conducting a check of the Metropolitan Police Department's gun registry. The passenger was also placed under arrest and both Suspects were transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE + CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 1:17:00 240901002260 R/O responded to the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW to provide backup to A/O conducting a traffic stop at the location. A/O observed a vehicle with no running lights traveling southbound in the intersection of North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. While speaking to the Suspect, R/O detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and with bloodshot eyes. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O observed a handgun in a black bag on the front passenger seat. The recovered handgun was loaded with one round in the chamber and a loaded magazine with nine (9) live rounds. CSS responded to process scene. CIS was notified and will investigate.
NO PERMIT + Poss of Pellet gun 17:47:00 240719001889 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. The vehicle entered the westbound lane of traffic and almost collided with opposing traffic. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of C Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended license out of Maryland with no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested and processed at HQ. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, a BB Gun was revoered. CSS processed the scene. CIS was notified.
