DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | DCC 50DC2206.11 + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A LICENSED PISTOL WHILE IMPAIRED CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) 2015 | DCC 22DC4504(A)-Y-3 | DCC 22DC4504-Y-3 | 07:03:10 | 231111002619 | R/O observed a vehicle that displayed an expired registration, and travelled southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of D Street NW. While speaking with the driver, R/O noticed a faint odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from inside the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted on Suspect-1, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest. During the arrest, S-1 stated there was a firearm in the vehicle. A/O recovered a firearm on Suspect-2s person. Further investigation revealed the firearm was registered to S-1. A/O-1 and A/O-2 gave multiple commands to Suspect-3 to exit the vehicle, but they did not comply. A/O-2 attempted to arrest S-3, but they resisted by clenching their fists while holding both arms in front of their body. A/O-1 assisted and A/O-2 was able to successfully arrest S-3. A/O-1 observed and removed an empty bottle of alcoholic beverage, and a bag from S-3s person during arrest. CSS responded and processed the scene. CSS recovered a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield handgun magazine, that contained 8 rounds of 9mm ammunition from S-3s bag. CSS also recovered two 13-round magazines in the trunk of the vehicle. All three Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE - FELONY +ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFFICER - FELONY TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UUV - FELONY TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID UUV PASSENGER UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE - MISD R | 07:17:00 | 231105000000 | R/O observed a vehicle idling at a green light as traffic flowed around it in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. R/O attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle accelerated eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE before making a right into the 400 Block of First Street NE. R/O then observed the vehicle crash into the police barricade at First and D Streets NE and two Suspects subsequently flee the scene. One Suspect was apprehended in the 100 Block of C Street NE in close proximity to a handgun that was discovered in a flower bed outside of the C Street Door of a Senate Office Building. A/O apprehended the other Suspect in the 500 Block of Second Street NE. While at the scene of the crash, A/O observed a black handgun with an extended magazine on the passenger seat of the Suspects' vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen out of Prince George's County, Maryland. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect who drove the vehicle revealed the individual had no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. R/O attempted to conduct SFSTs on the Suspect who drove the vehicle but they could not be completed. However, the Suspect heavily slurred their words, which indicated the individual was a highly impaired driver based on R/O's experience. Both Suspects were transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS processed the firearms that were recovered and discovered the handgun found in the vehicle had an extended 22-round magazine containing 18 rounds of ammunition and one round in the chamber while the handgun found in the 100 Block of C Street NE had one round in the chamber, an auto sear, and indications that someone attempted to scratch out the serial number. | |
THREATS TO INJURE-FEL0NY | 16:57:00 | 231102000000 | R/O was dispatched to the 300 Block of First Street SE for an individual potentially possessing a weapon. Upon arrival, R/O observed the Suspect's vehicle blocking both lanes of traffic. The Complainant stated to R/O, the Suspect was driving aggressively for several blocks before blocking the Complainant's path at First Street SE. The Complainant and several Witnesses stated the Suspect opened his driver side door and shouted to the Complainant that they had a gun and would shoot the Complainant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS responded to process the scene. | |

ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREGISTERED FIREARM UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES. | 11:18:00 | 230914002116 | R/O was at the Offsite Delivery Center when A/O advised R/O that a handgun was seen in the Suspect's backpack during the screening process. A/O-2 responded and processed the scene. A search of the backpack revealed a handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
CARJACKING | 03:38:00 | 230902002024 | R/O witnessed two armed Suspects carjacking a vehicle in the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue SE. The Complainants stated to R/O that one Suspect pointed a gun and ordered them out of their vehicle. The Suspects drove the Complainants vehicle southbound in the 500 Block of New Jersey Avenue SE. A search for the Suspects was met with negative results. The Complainants' vehicle was later recovered in the rear of the 100 Block of 55th Street SE. CSS processed the vehicle. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UNREG FIREARM - MISD UNREG AMMO - MISD | 00:27:00 | 230827001990 | R/O was traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of M Street SE when he heard a loud bang consistent with a vehicle collision. As R/O responded to investigate, R/O observed the Suspect exit the vehicle from the driver seat and walk away from the vehicle collision. R/O ran after the Suspect and gave loud verbal commands to stop near 14 M Street SE, in which the Suspect did not comply. During the foot pursuit, R/O simultaneously heard the sound of a loud clank consistent with that of a metal object striking concrete. R/O gave loud verbal commands again informing the Suspect to stop, where the Suspect was detained with the assistance of Metropolitan Police Officers. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. R/O located a fully functional black handgun and a magazine with four (4) rounds on the ground in the path of the foot pursuit. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While in processing, A/O responded to conduct SFSTs. The A/Os observations were consistent with the Suspect being impaired. | |
ROBBERY - FELONY | 19:46:00 | 230721001717 | R/O was flagged down in the 100 Block of D Street, SE. for an armed robbery report. The Complainant advised R/O, while at the intersection of Third and C Streets, SE., the Suspect approached them, displayed a handgun and demanded their phone. The Suspect fled the area and did not obtain possession of the phone. A search of the area was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
THEFT II-FROM AUTO. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: ADW - GUN | 23:49:00 | 230722001718 | R/O was flagged down in the 100 Block of E Street NW for a theft. The Complainants advised R/O that the Suspects approached them and demanded their scooter. When the Complainants refused to give up their scooter, the Suspects displayed a handgun and then physically assaulted them. The Suspects fled the area and did not obtain possession of the scooter. A search of the area was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
PPW-B - MISD. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE. | 01:10:00 | 230720001693 | R/O responded to a priority call for a welfare check at First Street and Maryland Avenue NE. Upon arrival, R/O observed an individual laying on the sidewalk. After several attempts of trying to sit and stand the Suspect upright, the Suspect attempted to run. A/O-1 tackled the Suspect and R/O felt something hard in the Suspect's bag, which was later identified as a Glock-19 BB gun. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active warrant out of the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-2 responded and recovered the weapon. | |
UNREG FIREARM - MISD + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREGISTERED AMMO - MISD UNLAWFUL ACTIVIES | 16:34:00 | 230714001644 | R/O responded to the intersection of First and East Capitol Streets for the report of a theft from auto. The initial interview with the Complainant revealed the Complainant confessed to being in possession of a firearm inside of the vehicle. A/O confirmed there was a firearm in the glove box along with a South Carolina permit. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. An inquiry from the MPD Gun Registration Unit revealed the weapon was not registered in the District of Columbia. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed one round in the chamber, five rounds in the seven capacity magazine and an additional box containing twelve rounds of ammunition located in the center console. CIS responded to Headquarters to continue the investigation. |
