On Sunday, May 28, 2017, the annual National Memorial Day Concert, which honors American veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Services, will be broadcast live from the West Front of the United States Capitol.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Sunday, and gates will open to the public at 5 p.m.

WASHINGTON, DC – The 36th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service will be held on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017.  This ceremony honors the law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) arrested four individuals on the East Front Plaza of the U.S. Capitol for smoking marijuana on Capitol Grounds.  Under federal law, it is unlawful to possess marijuana.

Two adult males and two adult females were charged with 21 USC 844(a) (possession).  They were taken to USCP Headquarters for processing.
