The twenty-sixth annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Service will be held on the West Front of the Capitol at Noon on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. This ceremony honors the law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty during 2006.

Public tours of the Capitol will be suspended on Tuesday, May 15th and will resume on Wednesday, May 16th at 9:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, May 15th, the streets listed below near the West Front of the Capitol will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • First Street SW/NW between Independence and Constitution Avenues
  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from First Street, NW to Third Street, NW
  • Maryland Avenue from First Street, SW to Third Street, SW
