The twenty-seventh annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Service will be held on the West Front of the Capitol at Noon on Thursday, May 15, 2008. This ceremony honors the law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty during 2007.

On Thursday, May 15, the streets listed below near the West Front of the Capitol will be closed to vehicular traffic:

  • First Sreet SW/NW between Independence and Constitution Avenues

  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from First Street, NW to Third Street, NW

  • Maryland Avenue from First Street, SW to Third Street, SW
