40 Demonstrators Arrested in Senate Office Buildings

This afternoon, over the course of several hours, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) responded to several offices in the Senate Office Buildings for reported demonstration activity.  After officers arrived on the scene, they warned the demonstrators to cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities.  Those who refused to cease and desist were placed under arrest, and charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding. 

As of 4 p.m., 19 adult males and 21 adult females were arrested and transported to USCP Headquarters for processing.
