On Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at 8:00 pm, United States Capitol Police arrested 128 members of the American Disabled for Attendant Programs Today (ADAPT) organization and charged with unlawful assembly. ADAPT had refused to leave SD-215, a committee room in the Dirksen Senate Office Building after several warnings to disassemble by United States Capitol Police. United States Capitol Police were aware of the special needs of the ADAPT members and all of their needs were attended to.
