In light of the multiple terrorist attacks that took place this morning in London, England, the United States Capitol Police will be elevating our security postures throughout the Capitol Complex. Additional patrols will be added to assist with vehicular and pedestrian security screening. This screening may be a cursory visual check, although, further investigation may be necessary.
Although the department has not elevated our threat level, these additional procedures are meant to augment our normal functions to ensure a safe and open environment. The United States Capitol Police continue to monitor these unfolding events and have been working closely with our federal and local law enforcement partners. We ask everyone to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious items or persons at (202) 224-5151.
