It is our sad duty to announce the death of Sergeant Clinton Holtz who died on Friday, January 17, 2014, while working in his capacity as a police sergeant for the United States Capitol Police. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Sergeant Holtz served honorably with the United States Capitol Police from July 25, 2003 until his death, and most recently worked with the House Division, Section 3. He also worked with the Dignitary Protection Division.

Chief Dine said, "Sergeant Holtz was an extraordinary model of what it means to be truly dedicated to law enforcement. I am overwhelmed by the countless stories shared with me that represent Sergeant Holtz as a true gentleman, wholly respected, loved and admired by his friends, family and colleagues for his kindness and work ethic. He was a highly respected man of exemplary character who made an indelible mark on the USCP and will truly be missed."
