Suspect Subdued, Arrested by U.S. Capitol Police

At approximately 11:30 am today, the suspect approached a U.S. Capitol Police officer at the intersection of First Street and Constitution Avenue, NE in an aggressive and threatening manner. The suspect then lunged toward several police officers, continuing to make furtive movements as though he had a weapon under his coat. Officers sought cover for protection, and began giving verbal commands to the suspect who refused to comply. A plainclothes USCP officer approached the suspect from behind and took the suspect to the ground. The suspect was taken into custody by the U.S. Capitol Police, and transported to 119 D Street, NE for processing.

The suspect is identified as 41 year-old Paul Agole Ujwok of Virginia, and is charged with Assault on a Police Officer (APO).
