U.S. Capitol Police Respond to Multiple Instances of Unlawful Demonstration Activities
United States Capitol Police officers responded to multiple instances of unlawful demonstration activities on Friday, October 5, 2018.
A total of 101 individuals were arrested. Additional details are below.
During the course of the day, 78 individuals were arrested throughout the Senate Office Buildings, and they were charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.
At approximately 1 p.m., on First Street, between East Capitol Street and Maryland Avenue, NE, 16 adult males were arrested and were charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.
At approximately 3:10 p.m., six individuals were arrested in the Senate Gallery in the United States Capitol Building. They were charged with DC §10-503.16(b)(4), Unlawful Conduct.
In addition, at approximately 4 p.m., one adult female was arrested on the fourth floor of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, and she was charged with D.C. Code §22-1307, Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding, and 21 USC 844(a) (possession of marijuana).
