The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is advising the public that several USCP office telephone numbers are being used as part of a "Caller ID Spoofing" fraud scheme that has affected police departments across the country.
On Sunday, May 28, 2017, the annual National Memorial Day Concert, which honors American veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Services, will be broadcast live from the West Front of the United States Capitol.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Sunday, and gates will open to the public at 5 p.m.
There also will be a full concert dress rehearsal for this event on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 8 p.m.

WASHINGTON, DC – The 36th Annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service will be held on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017. This ceremony honors the law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty.
Street Closures and Bus Restrictions
On Monday, May 15 beginning at 12:01 a.m., the streets listed below near the West Front of the Capitol will be closed to vehicular traffic. These streets will re-open at 5 p.m.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. today, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) arrested four individuals on the East Front Plaza of the U.S. Capitol for smoking marijuana on Capitol Grounds. Under federal law, it is unlawful to possess marijuana.
Two adult males and two adult females were charged with 21 USC 844(a) (possession). They were taken to USCP Headquarters for processing.

At approximately 4 p.m., USCP officers arrested one adult male who was charged with 21 USC 844(a) (possession).
WASHINGTON, DC -- At approximately 12:18 p.m. today, United States Capitol Police (USCP) officers began arresting several individuals after witnessing them distributing marijuana in public view to passersby at First and Constitution Avenue, NE.
UPDATED – 5:40 p.m.
This morning at 9:22 a.m., United States Capitol Police (USCP) officers observed an erratic and aggressive driver traveling eastbound in the vicinity of 100 Independence Ave, SW.
While USCP officers were attempting to stop the vehicle on Independence Avenue, the driver made a U-turn and fled the scene nearly striking officers. The suspect's vehicle struck at least one other vehicle. The vehicle was stopped by USCP officers at Washington and Independence Avenue, SW.
On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, President Donald J. Trump will address a Joint Session of Congress in the Hall of the House of Representatives beginning at 9 p.m.
Given the high level of security surrounding the event, the United States Capitol Police (USCP) is responsible for a significant amount of preparation and coordination with its numerous law enforcement partners, including the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Park Police, and Metropolitan Police Department.
For those ticket holders attending the Inauguration Ceremonies at the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2017, please consult the map and guidelines for information on gate locations.
All ticket holders will be required to pass through security screening. Gates open at 6 a.m. All entrances to the ceremonies are accessible and are noted on the map. The U.S. Capitol Building will be closed to the public. Please consult the Prohibited Items list before coming to the U.S. Capitol Grounds.
The 58th Presidential Inaugural ceremonies will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the U.S. Capitol. Events and activities celebrating the Inauguration, a designated National Special Security Event, will take place from Thursday, January 19, 2017, through Saturday, January 21, 2017.
