The United States Capitol Police arrested a man after he illegally parked in front of the Supreme Court and refused leave.
In August, the same man came to the Capitol Complex and made concerning statements.
The United States Capitol Police is aware of concerning online chatter about a demonstration planned for September 18.
"We are here to protect everyone's First Amendment right to peacefully protest," said Chief Tom Manger. "I urge anyone who is thinking about causing trouble to stay home. We will enforce the law and not tolerate violence."
This morning the United States Capitol Police arrested a California man who had multiple knives in his truck near the Democratic National Committee headquarters.
"This is good police work plain and simple," said Chief Tom Manger. "We applaud the officers' keen observation and the teamwork that resulted in this arrest."
After January 6, the United States Capitol Police promised to provide an update on its internal investigations related to the attack.
This week, the USCP provided the Department of Justice the administrative cases as part of the ongoing discovery production in the prosecution of the January 6 rioters. Officer names, witness names, and complainant names were redacted.
The United States Capitol Police is grateful the Office of Inspector General (OIG) acknowledged the Hazardous Incident Response Division (HIRD) for contributing "greatly toward the Department's mission on January 6" in its sixth flash report about HIRD and the Canine Unit. "The Division's response to the threat of hazardous devices was excellent," the Inspector General reported.
The United States Capitol Police is addressing the recommendations detailed in the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) 5th flash report on the Command and Coordination Bureau (CCB), which included Officer's Perspectives on Department-wide Command and Control.
After interviewing multiple witnesses and reviewing all the available evidence, including video and radio calls, the United States Capitol Police has completed the internal investigation into the fatal shooting of Ms. Ashli Babbitt, which occurred in the Speaker's Lobby on January 6.
This afternoon, the United States Capitol Police safely took a bomb threat suspect into custody, cleared the vehicle and has now determined the area is safe.
Investigators are still on the scene.

Monday afternoon, the United States Capitol Police seized two loaded guns near the U.S. Capitol.
On August 2, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a man approached two USCP officers at First Street and East Capitol Street, SE to ask for directions.
One of the officers spotted a black firearm handle sticking out of the front pocket of the man's shorts.
The man was placed under arrest for carrying a pistol without a license in the District of Columbia.
The gun was a 9mm pistol with a high capacity magazine.
