| TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER | 22:25:00 | 230730001787 | R/O observed a vehicle driving 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and drifting across multiple lanes of traffic while travelling through the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. Upon approaching the vehicle, R/O smelled the scent of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver's breath. The Suspect refused to participate in any SFSTs, but due to multiple signs of impairment, the individual was placed under arrest and taken to Headquarters for processing. As A/O attempted to inventory the vehicle prior to impounding it, a passenger who was riding in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop remotely locked the doors using the vehicle's key fob to prevent law enforcement personnel from gaining access. Despite repeated requests to hand over the key fob, the Suspect refused to comply. The Suspect was then placed under arrest and taken to Headquarters for processing. | |

A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's permit revealed a suspended status through Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Complainant reported that their bicycle was there at the start of their shift and was gone when they returned at the end of their shift. The USCP Command Center reviewed footage which revealed that the bicycle was stolen by an unknown male at 1148 hours. A canvas of the area was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

Upon arrival, R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the individual which revealed a bench warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court. USCP Communications confirmed the bench warrant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. Upon approach, R/O detected a moderate odor of alcohol emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O-1 located a firearm within a bag placed on the passenger seat. A/O-2 responded to process the scene. Further examination revealed the firearm had ammunition loaded into its magazine. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the firearm was not registered in the District of Columbia. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| THEFT I -STOLEN AUTO | 15:12:00 | 2307230001729 | R/O responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NE. The Complainant stated they parked at that location on Friday, July 21, 2023, and returned on Sunday, July 23, 2023, to discover the vehicle was no longer there. A canvass of the area yielded negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed, the Suspect had an active warrant issued through Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which was confirmed through USCP Communications. The WALES/NCIC inquiry also revealed, the Suspect had a suspended license through Maryland with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
