TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 12:28:00 230806001838 R/O observed a vehicle fail to signal at the intersection of North Capitol and E Streets NE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of H Street NW. Upon approach, R/O noticed a faint odor of an alcoholic beverage. SFSTs were conducted. Due to the numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT I-FROM AUTO + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - $1000+ - FELONY 11:52:00 230806001841 R/O was flagged down in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW for a report of a theft from auto. The Complainants advised R/O that they had parked their vehicle at approximately 0930 hours on August 6, 2023. Upon returning at approximately 1120 hours on the same date, they discovered their rear passenger window shattered and their bicycle missing. A search of the area was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - UNDER $1000 - MISD 02:49:00 230806001840 R/O responded to the 500 Block of New Jersey Avenue SE for the report of a vehicle with a broken window. Upon arrival, the Complainant advised R/O that they parked their vehicle with no damage and when they returned to the vehicle, the right rear passenger window of the vehicle was broken. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 04:38:00 230805001834 R/O observed a vehicle driving westbound in the Unit Block of D Street NW, displaying an expired registration. R/O initiated a traffic stop in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the registration as expired. The Suspect was avoiding eye contact with R/O and appeared to be flush in the face. SFST's were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 03:17:00 230805001833 R/O observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway, on the exit ramp at Interstate 395 Northbound C Street Ramp SW, with heavy front end damage. R/O conducted a welfare check of two individuals outside of the vehicle. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed the Suspect had, glassy, watery eyes and impaired coordination. The Suspect admitted to driving the vehicle. SFST's were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UUV - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID 20:14:00 230804001832 R/O was notified via License Plate Reader of a stolen vehicle at Third Street and Independence Avenue SE. R/O located the vehicle at Fifth and Pennsylvania Avenue SE traveling eastbound. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Eighth Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle confirmed it was stolen out of South Carolina. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's license revealed it was expired out of West Virginia with no valid status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: THEFT II-FROM AUTO 09:28:00 230801001804 R/O and A/O responded to the vicinity of North Capitol and H Streets NE upon receiving a lookout for a stolen vehicle in that area. After a brief canvas, the vehicle was found parked and unoccupied in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Attempts to locate the driver of the vehicle met with negative results. A/O-2 responded, and processed the recovered vehicle. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed its front tag was missing despite being affixed to it at the time it was stolen. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE 08:09:00 230801001797 R/O observed a vehicle in the area of New Jersey and H Street NW that was registered as stolen earlier in the day. A WALES/NCIC inquiry confirmed the vehicle was stolen. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 600 Block of H Street NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY. RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY RECKLESS DRIVING - MISD TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFF - FELONY DC50-2201.05B BENCH WARRANT - MISDEMEANOR FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 09:20:00 230801001799 R/O was spotted a stolen vehicle traveling southbound in the 700 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry confirmed the vehicle was stolen. R/O and A/O attempted to conduct a stop in the 100 Block of D Street NW at which time the vehicle fled southbound through the Third Street Tunnel then exiting southbound onto 695. R/O and A/O pursued the vehicle to the 2300 Block of Prout Street SE at which time the Suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Both Suspects #1 and #2 were apprehended in the area of Nicholson and Prout Streets SE. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of Suspect #1 revealed two (2) active warrants held by DC Superior Court and no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Both Suspects were transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-2 responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS 00:53:00 230730001789 R/O observed a grey Nissan vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Second Street and Virginia Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of E Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags affixed to the Nissan were registered to a black Ford vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and was transported to Headquarters for processing.
