THEFT I 18:20:00 250709002288 R/O was approached by an individual who reported a theft at Third and C Streets SW. The Complainant stated that he parked his bike at approximately 0910 hours and when he returned at 1830 hours, the bike was missing. Initial attempts to identify the Suspect yielded negative results.
NO PERMIT 14:10:00 250709002284 R/O while on patrol observed a vehicle perform an improper turn in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue directly in front of a No U-Turn sign. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect through USCP Communication reviled no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT 14:58:00 250708002272 R/O responded to the CVC Auditorium for a report of an assault. The Complainant stated two individuals assaulted them while in the CVC Auditorium. The Complainant identified one of the individuals that purposely swatted their phone out of their hand. A surveillance video confirmed the event. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING 11:50:00 250708002277 R/O responded to the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW for a report of a vehicle collision. Once on the scene, a Witness stated they observed a grey Honda back into the Complainants vehicle and then fled the scene. The Suspect vehicle was last seen driving northbound in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SE. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE + NO PERMIT POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE 20:50:00 250708002279 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 500 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE at a high rate of speed and no running headlights. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended license in Virginia, and no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. While speaking to the Suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were administered. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O discovered an open container, which smelled of an alcoholic beverage, located on the drivers side floorboard.
NO PERMIT 17:14:00 250707002245 R/O observed a vehicle proceed through a stop sign without stopping at an intersection near First and C Streets NW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. A WALES/ NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a suspended Maryland operator's permit and no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT SECOND DEGREE (ALL OTHER LARCENY) 15:22:00 250707002244 R/O responded to a report of a theft that occurred at Second Street and Maryland Avenue NE. The Complainant stated they secured their scooter to a bike rack at that location earlier in the day, but they discovered it was missing upon returning to retrieve it. Initial attempts to locate the scooter met with negative results while the lock used to secure it was found on the ground nearby. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + NO PERMIT 20:35:00 250707002252 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags travel through the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. Additionally, R/O detected a strong odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were subsequently conducted, which revealed numerous signs of impairment. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FRAUD FIRST DEGREE (MISDEMEANOR) 15:55:00 250707002242 R/O responded to a House Office Building for a report of fraudulent activity. The Complainant stated they received text messages from an unknown individual claiming to be their supervisor that directed them to purchase several gift cards that were to be given to their colleagues. The Complainant was also directed to provide photos of those gift cards once purchased. Before taking further action, the Complainant discovered the phone number used to make this request did not belong to their supervisor and subsequently ceased all contact with the Suspect. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 21:55:00 250706002235 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE displaying what R/O recognized to be counterfeit rear tags. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an expired DC permit, and no permit status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
