ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER, RESISTING ARREST, U.S. CAPITOL - SLEEP/LIE DOWN, PAVED/IMPROVED AREAS (ANYTIME) 11:39:00 260902002829 R/O observed an individual sleeping on a bench by the Taft Memorial in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. R/O advised the individual they could not sleep on the bench on U.S. Capitol Grounds and to move their belongings. The individual refused. While attempting to place the individual under arrest, the individual pulled away from R/O and ran. R/O grabbed the individual and the two engaged in a physical altercation when the individual pushed R/O to the ground. The Suspect was eventually placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 20:40:00 260902002837 R/O observed a vehicle travelling in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW displaying expired registration stickers. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the Suspect did not possess a valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT, LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 7:46:00 260902002823 R/O observed a vehicle in the 300 Block of M Street SE with heavy tinted windows. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle registration revealed the tags were unissued. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Virginia operator's permit and no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) 21:20:00 260902002839 R/O responded to provide backup assistance to A/O-1 and A/O-2 in the Unit Block of E Street NW. A/O-1 confirmed observing the Suspect actively consuming a beverage from containers from a case nearby. A/O smelled the contents of the cans which had an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the Suspects age as 18 years old, and no wants or warrants. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 10:26:00 260901002813 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE with a heavily tinted windshield. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of First Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver did not possess a valid operator's permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT 15:55:00 260901002820 R/O was flagged down in a House Office Building by a visitor who stated that they were assaulted by another visitor while filming and attempting to ask questions to an individual. The Complainant stated that while keeping their distance, the Suspect started to attack and attempt to take their belongings. The Complainant flagged down an officer for assistance. The Suspect was located. S/A responded and interviewed both individuals. The Complainant and subject were released. CIS will continue to investigate.
FAILURE TO APPEAR 18:41:00 260831002809 R/O observed an individual appeared to be in possession of a minimal amount of marijuana in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A contact was conducted. The individual provided their personal information and walked away. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the individual had an outstanding bench warrant held by Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The warrant was confirmed through USCP Communications. The Suspect was later identified to be walking westbound in the Unit Block of E Street NE. The individual was stopped in the Unit Block of E Street NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS), POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION, UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES 18:37:00 260831002808 R/O observed an individual enter Lobby 1 of a House Office Building and placed their belongings through the x-ray machine. During the screening process, the appearance of a firearm was present on the monitor. A physical inspection of the individual's belongings revealed a firearm. A/O-1 and A/O-2 responded to process the scene. Recovered was as a .32 caliber firearm loaded with six rounds of ammunition. S/A responded to the scene. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit revealed the handgun was not registered, nor did individual possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM - MISD, RESISTING ARREST 17:40:00 260830002804 R/O was approached by an individual who stated someone was chasing them at the intersection of Second and D Streets NE. The Complainant stated the Suspect chased them and was yelling I'm gonna kill you. R/O located the Suspect and told the Suspect to stop and place their hands behind their backs multiple times and the Suspect refused. The R/O, with multiple assisting officers, was able to stop and detain the Suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 23:41:00 260831002806 R/O observed a vehicle with no front headlights running traveling eastbound in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of Third Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags revealed a suspended status. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended permit out of Georgia with no status in Virginia, Maryland or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
