A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. RO observed the Suspect having watery/glassy eyes and smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed an open container labeled tequila. | |
| DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE + PERMIT SUSPENDED - OAS | 7:43:00 | 260529001755 | R/O observed a vehicle following too closely to another vehicle and make an improper lane change in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of D Street NW. The Suspect stated he had smoked two marijuana joints before driving. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's driver's license was suspended out of the District of Columbia with no status in Maryland or Virginia. R/O conducted SFSTs and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. | |

OF A PROH. WEAPON - FELONY, POSS.OF AN OPEN CONT. ALC. | 20:20 | 260529001761 | R/O observed a vehicle in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW failing to keep up with the normal flow of traffic and operating in a manner that R/O believed to be consistent with the behavior of an impaired driver. A traffic stop was attempted in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW, however the driver continued to proceed westbound. Additional attempts to stop the vehicle were made by R/O before a traffic stop was successfully conducted in the 100 Block of Third Street NW. Upon approach, R/O gave a verbal command for the driver to exit the vehicle, which was ignored. R/O also detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. When R/O attempted to remove the driver from the vehicle, the Suspect actively resisted by yelling and tensing up. The Suspect's resisting also caused multiple cuts to A/O on the hand and arm. Throughout the course of the investigation, the Suspect failed to provide R/O with a valid permit. The Suspect also refused to submit to chemical testing. While attempting to identify the Suspect, R/O observed a purse on the passenger seat. A bag with a white powdery substance was located inside the purse. Additionally, multiple empty containers of alcohol were located underneath the seat. CSS responded and processed the scene. A test of the white powdery substance yielded a presumptive positive result of cocaine. A/O also recovered an approximately six-inch switchblade in the center console of the vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL NO PERMIT | 21:39:00 | 260529001762 | R/O observed a vehicle displaying an expired tag and failing to maintain its lane in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 800 Block of North Capitol Street NE. Upon approach, R/O detected a moderate odor of alcohol emitting from the Suspect's breath. R/O also observed a plastic cup with a red liquid in the center console. The contents of the cup were consistent with wine. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect through USCP Communications revealed a cancelled driver's license out of the District of Columbia with no status in Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle yielded an additional open container of vodka in the backside of the front passenger seat. | |

A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications revealed a suspended Pennsylvania permit with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

| FIRE REPORT | 1:35:00 | 260527001726 | R/O responded to the 300 Block of First Street SE for the report of a structure fire. R/O was informed by SPO that an extension cord spontaneously combusted and burned the window sill. The fire was extinguished with a fire extinguisher. DC Fire responded and pulled drywall down surrounding the area to prevent reignition of the fire. The building was cleared and safe to re-enter with no substantial structural damage. (jel) |
