A check of the vehicle registration confirmed an expired tag. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of South Capitol and K Streets SW. The Suspect was unable to provide a driver's license to R/O when asked. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended driving status out of Maryland, and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES AND PPW-A SWITCH BLADE | 10:46:00 | 261012003228 | R/O 1 observed an individual enter the Independence Avenue door of the Library of Congress Madison Building, then immediately exited with the same bag in hand. The individual asked R/O if they could leave their bag outside with them to be watched. R/O asked the individual why they wanted to do that, then the individual stated they had their firearm in the bag. The firearm was located and later identified as a 9mm loaded pistol. A/O responded and processed the scene, finding a switch blade as well as an additional loaded magazine in the bag. A/O 2 confirmed with the DC Metropolitan Police Department that S1 had an active license to carry within the District of Columbia, and the firearm was registered with the city as well. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| NO PERMIT | 10:05:00 | 261012003227 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling with expired registration in the Unit Block of M Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 Block of Half Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended permit out of Maryland, and no valid permit in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE | 2:53:00 | 261011003226 | R/O 1 and R/O 2 were in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE when they were approached by the driver of a vehicle. While speaking to the driver, R/O 2 detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from their breath. The Suspect was stopped in the same location. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFUENCE – FIRST OFFENSE (S1), RESISTING ARREST (S-1) ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER MISD (S-2) RESISTING ARREST (S-2) PUBLIC INTOXICATION (S-2) | 5:02:00 | 261010003220 | R/O noticed a vehicle stopped in the far right lane with visible disabling damage on Interstate 395. Upon approach of the vehicle, R/O gave several commands for Suspect-1 and Suspect-2 to stay inside of the vehicle due to safety concerns on the highway. Suspect-2 stated they were the driver of the vehicle. R/O observed Suspect 2 was slow to stand and their eyes were bloodshot. R/O could also smell a moderate odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. Suspect-2 continued to walk around the highway and ignore verbal commands to stay on the side of the highway. Suspect-2 began to pedal back into oncoming traffic. Fearing for Suspect-2 life, R/O and A/O grabbed the Suspect's arm to bring them back to safety. While attempting to handcuff Suspect-2, the Suspect fell to the ground, refusing to unlock their arms. While Suspect-2 was actively resisting, Suspect-1 became hostile, made several threats and attempted to leave the scene. When R/O attempted to place Suspect-1 in handcuffs, they locked their arms and refused to comply. Suspect-1 made several threats to the Officers on scene. Both Suspects were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS, AND NO PERMIT | 10:51:00 | 261009003211 | R/O conducted a tag check on a vehicle that came back to another vehicle in the Unit Block of G Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of G Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a surrendered license in Maryland and no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| U.S. CAPITOL - SWIMMING AND ENTRY INTO POOLS | 8:40:00 | 261009003208 | R/O observed clothing on the sidewalk at 200 Maryland Avenue SW, belonging to the Suspect that was in the reflecting pool. The Suspect was given orders to get out multiple times and failed to do so. Once the Suspect exited the reflecting pool, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing. | |
| DEFACE PRIVATE/PUBLIC PROPERTY | 13:00:00 | 261009003217 | R/O responded to the Longworth House Office Building for a report of vandalism. Upon arriving on scene, R/O spoke with the Complainant and confirmed that a poster located outside their office was defaced with a red substance. Immediate attempts to locate the Suspect met with negative results. A/O responded to process the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) AND NO PERMIT | 21:06:00 | 261008003205 | R/O observed a Suspect operating a vehicle in the Unit Block of I Street SE in need of assistance. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O observed two open cans of an alcoholic beverage in the center console cupholder. R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the Suspect's breath and observed that the Suspect's speech was slurred and eyes were bloodshot. A WALES/NCIC check revealed no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland and a revoked status in Virginia. SFSTs were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE, NO PERMIT, RESISTING ARREST, USE OF UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLE, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE, LOANING REGISTRATION, AND MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS | 10:12:00 | 261008003198 | R/O while on patrol observed a moped with multiple reflectors on the tag obstructing the view in the Unit Block of H Street NW. R/O attempted a traffic stop in the intersection of H and North Capitol Streets NW. The Suspect jumped off of the moped and began to flee in the 700 Block of North Capitol Street NW. R/O gave multiple commands to stop but the Suspect failed to comply. The Suspect continued to resist arrest once apprehended by attempting to pull his hands under his waist. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. A WALES/NCIC check of the moped revealed the tag belonged to a different moped. Additionally, the moped was reported as a recovered stolen out of the District of Columbia. A/O spoke with the registered owner who stated that they did not authorize anyone to drive the moped and it has not been returned. A/O 2 and A/O 3 responded and processed the scene. A/O 4 responded to the scene. |
