THEFT SECOND DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) 8:45:00 260817002678 R/O responded to a room in a Senate office building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported they left their notebook in the office on August 6th. When they returned to the office on August 17th, the notebook was still there, but multiple pages had been torn out and could not be found. R/O 2 was notified and will continue to investigate.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE 1:24:00 260816002672 R/O observed a vehicle collide with a curb and come to a stop in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. Upon approaching the vehicle, the Officer detected the odor of alcohol emanating from the driver. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location, and SFSTs were administered. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 16:02:00 260815002667 R/O while on patrol observed a vehicle with no rear bumper and heavy front end damage in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon approach, R/O noticed that the driver's eyes were glazed over and tremoring. Additionally, R/O noticed a moderately strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED - UNDER 21, AND POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 2:07:00 260815002663 R/O observed the driver of a vehicle using a cellphone while traveling in the 300 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. SFTSs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. Additionally, R/O 2 observed the backseat passenger in possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 2ND OFFENSE 2:34:00 260815002664 R/O observed a vehicle rapidly accelerate through two red traffic lights in the 300 Block of H Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of H Street NE. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed bloodshot, glassy eyes, and heavily slurred speech. R/O also detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 19:30:00 260814002659 R/O observed a vehicle traveling with a broken brake light in the 500 Block North Capitol Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of G Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Georgia and no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 7:57:00 260814002651 R/O observed the driver not wearing a seatbelt in the 400 Block of M Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1100 Block of Seventh Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFFENSE AND RESISTING ARREST 16:15:00 260814002656 R/O observed a vehicle traveling with an expired registration in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Third Street NE. Upon approaching the vehicle, R/O detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest. While attempting to place the Suspect in handcuffs, they tensed their body and pulled their arms away from the R/O. The Suspect then fled on foot in the 500 Block of Third Street NE. The Suspect was apprehended in the same location, placed in handcuffs, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 21:08:00 260814002662 R/O observed a vehicle traveling with severe damage to its rear bumper in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed it was associated with a wanted person. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active and extraditable warrant out of Boone County, Missouri. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS, NO PERMIT, AND POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 17:02:00 260813002648 R/O observed a vehicle with expired registration stickers driving eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle registration returned to a different vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the VIN revealed the vehicle is not registered through any state. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license out of Maryland with no driving status in Virginia or the District of Columbia. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O observed an alcoholic beverage on the center console that was half empty. Additionally, a pink metal container was also found in the center console with the same odor consistent with the alcoholic beverage. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
