The vehicle stopped at a red light at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and D Street SE, at which time R/O observed that the vehicles brake light was also out. As R/O followed the vehicle in the 100 block of D Street SE, the vehicle failed to maintain its lane. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of D Street SE. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

R/O initiated a traffic stop in the 300 block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the vehicle confirmed the expired status. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the driver revealed a suspended Maryland permit with no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle revealed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage. |
