ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES: ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR ASSAULT - SIMPLE - MISD 05/07/2023 6:12pm 230507000995 R/O and A/O observed an assault in progress in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A/O observed the Suspect striking the Complainant multiple times. After being placed under arrest, the Suspect became violent by kicking and spitting on the officers before being placed into the transport vehicle. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 05/07/2023 11:20pm 230507000992 R/O observed a vehicle commit several traffic violations in the Unit Block of I Street SE. A traffic stop was then conducted in the 300 block of I Street SE. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver. SFST's were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID POSS OPEN CONTAINER ALCOHOL - POCA 05/06/2023 4:06pm 230506000990 R/O responded to a report of an unconscious driver in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. While on scene, R/O detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person. SFSTs were conducted, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. A WALES/ NCIC check reveled the Suspect's license was suspended through Maryland, with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. During an inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, an open cup containing an alcoholic beverage was found in the center cup holder.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CONTEMPT OF COURT FAILURE TO ID SELF TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID 05/06/2023 9:22am 230506000988 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags driving westbound in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's license had been revoked out of Alabama, with no valid status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was also unable to provide R/O with physical copy of his driver's license. The WALES/NCIC check also revealed that the Suspect had both an active bench warrant, and an active protection order, issued by the District of Columbia Superior Court. All petitioners named in the protection order were present in the vehicle during at the time of the stop. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 05/05/2023 6:41pm 230505000982 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 200 Block of D Street NW with its taillights not illuminated. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's driver's license was suspended through Virginia with no valid permit in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE ADDITIONIAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC- PERMIT- NO VALID 05/04/2023 6:24am 230504000961 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of H Street NE with no tags displayed. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of H Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an active warrant out of Fairfax County, Virginia and the Suspect's Louisiana permit status suspended with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR 05/03/2023 9:40am 230503000957 R/O responded to the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE to investigate a call regarding a Suspect threatening to stab pedestrians. A lookout was broadcast. R/O canvassed the area and observed the Suspect. A stop was initiated, and a WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a Bench Warrant in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: MISUSE OF TAGS 05/03/2023 7:21am 230503000953 R/O and A/O observed a vehicle with heavily tinted windows traveling westbound in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. Additionally, the WALES/NCIC check revealed the vehicle tag did not correspond to the vehicle being driven by the Suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
UUV - FELONY 05/02/2023 6:18am 230502000941 R/O observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle traveling southbound in the 400 Block of North Capitol Street. R/O confirmed the vehicle's stolen status through USCP Communications and attempted a traffic stop on the 11th Street SE Exit Ramp from I-695. The Suspect fled and collided with the jersey barrier and another vehicle on the exit ramp. The Suspect then fled on foot on 11th Street SE where Assisting Officers apprehended multiple Suspects. Near the apprehension location, witnesses notified the R/O of a firearm they observed the Suspect discarded while fleeing. R/O located a .40 caliber pistol with a high capacity feeding device loaded with 19 rounds of ammunition. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY - MISD 05/02/2023 4:27pm 230502000948 R/O, while conducting a building check of a Senate Office Building observed an individual sitting on a bench on the ground level. R/O advised the Suspect that the building closed at 2000 hours and that they needed to leave. The Suspect did not comply with R/O directions to leave the building. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
