A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Fourth Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle temporary tag revealed the tag belonged to a different vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Virginia operators permit and no valid permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF | 2:36:00 | 250810002619 | R/O observed a vehicle stopped in the Unit Block of D Street NW facing oncoming traffic. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O noticed slurred speech and initiated SFST's. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
FAILURE TO APPEAR | 11:48:00 | 250810002621 | R/O-1 and R/O-2 observed an individual removing portions of a plant near the United States Botanic Garden Conservatory in the 100 Block of Maryland Avenue SW. A subject stop was subsequently initiated at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the individual revealed they were subject to an active bench warrant issued through the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Once the warrant was confirmed by Communications, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

DEFACING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY | 11:05:00 | 250808002604 | R/O-1 and R/O-2 were patrolling in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE when R/O-1 observed the Suspect tampering with a flagpole in the area. Upon further investigation, R/O-1 observed multiple flagpoles defaced with black permanent marker. R/O detained the Suspect after observing a folding knife tucked in his waistband. A search of the Suspect revealed a permanent marker on his person. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. | |

A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license in Maryland and no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER - VEHICLE | 23:44:00 | 250808002614 | R/O observed a vehicle with a flat tire strike a curb in the area of Peace Circle. The vehicle then continued to proceed to drive westbound in the 100 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Due to the condition of the vehicle, RO conducted a traffic stop at that location. Upon approach of the vehicle, RO smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. R/O responded to conduct SFSTs. Due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory of the Suspect's vehicle, a bottle of tequila was also found. |
