| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) AND NO PERMIT | 21:06:00 | 261008003205 | R/O observed a Suspect operating a vehicle in the Unit Block of I Street SE in need of assistance. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O observed two open cans of an alcoholic beverage in the center console cupholder. R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emanating from the Suspect's breath and observed that the Suspect's speech was slurred and eyes were bloodshot. A WALES/NCIC check revealed no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland and a revoked status in Virginia. SFSTs were administered, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| CARRYING A PISTOL IN A PROHIBITED LOCATION | 10:50:00 | 2.61007E+11 | R/O 1 observed a worker enter the Capitol Visitor Center Truck Tunnel and placed their bag through the x-ray machine. During the screening process, an image of a handgun appeared on the monitor. A physical inspection of the individual's belongings revealed an unloaded handgun. R/O 2 responded and processed the scene. Recovered was a Glock handgun with no magazine or ammunition. R/O 3 conducted an inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department Gun Registration Unit and revealed the individual has a conceal carry permit in the District of Columbia, however, does not possess the authority to carry a firearm on U.S. Capitol grounds. The Suspect told officers he forgot the weapon was in his bag. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| FLEEING LAW ENFORCEMENT, USE OF UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLE, UNLAWFUL DISPLAY OF TAGS AND RECKLESS DRIVING | 18:36:00 | 2.61007E+11 | R/O observed a Suspect traveling Eastbound on a moped in the Unit Block of H Street NW. The Suspect was driving the moped without a helmet and without a rear registration tag. R/O attempted to make a traffic stop at the same location, however, the moped continued traveling Eastbound before turning Northbound toward the 900 block of North Capitol Street N.E. While fleeing the traffic stop, the Suspect was seen traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic without the use of a turn signal. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

R/O realized there was a BOLO for the individual due to an active bench warrant. A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications confirmed the Suspect had two active warrants held by Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and processed at Headquarters. | |

Once on the scene, a Witness directed R/O to the individual that stole merchandise from an establishment in the Unit Block of I Street SE. The individual was stopped at the same location with items belonging to the establishment. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CID was notified. | |
| FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE | 11:10:00 | 2.61005E+11 | R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC inquiry of an individual that applied for a position while at 499 South Capitol Street SW (Fairchild Building). The inquiry revealed the individual had a warrant held by the Spotsylvania County Virginia Sheriff's Office. The warrant was confirmed through USCP Communications as an extraditable warrant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| NO PERMIT | 0:54:00 | 2.61005E+11 | R/O observed a vehicle with no running lights make a left turn on E Street and New Jersey Avenue NW without using a turn signal. The vehicle continued on the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW and made a turn onto D Street NW without using a turn signal. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended driving status out of Maryland with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON | 12:33:00 | 2.61004E+11 | R/O was monitoring MPD's radio and responded to a call for service regarding an assault in progress in the area of Seventh Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The Victim stated they were walking westbound on Pennsylvania Avenue when the Suspect walked past making statements to the Victim. The suspect then threw a plastic juice bottle at the Victim, striking them in the head. A lookout was broadcast over the radio for the Suspect. R/O and several other units canvassed the area with negative results. R/O 2 responded and processed the scene. CID was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| PERMIT SUSPENDED - OAS | 1:21:00 | 2.61004E+11 | R/O observed a vehicle make a left hand turn through a solid red light at the intersection of South Capitol and Canal Streets SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the driver's permit was suspended in the District of Columbia, had an expired status out of Maryland, and no status in Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, IDENTITY THEFT SECOND DEGREE, LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS, FAIL TO EXHIBIT PERMIT, COUNTERFEIT TAGS AND NO PERMIT | 23:09:00 | 2.61003E+11 | R/O 1 and R/O 2 observed a vehicle without any running headlights traveling northbound in the 400 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A tag check was conducted and confirmed the registration was expired and returned to a Chevrolet Suburban. The tag also had a plastic lamination over the top of the printer paper and displayed an expiration date of 09/25/2026 which in R/O's training and experience is consistent with counterfeit tags. The Suspect stated the vehicle was a rental and did not know where the tags came from. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of First and D Streets NE. Upon approach, R/O asks the Suspect for their license which they were not able to produce but provided the R/O with a different name and DOB. When the Suspect was challenged about the DOB year the Suspect changed the DOB year again. A query through EAGENT revealed the correct DOB and the WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect name revealed a valid District of Columbia license and not status in Maryland or Virginia. While speaking with the Suspect, A/O observed a package on the passenger seat consistent with a commercial marijuana packaged packet. The Suspect showed multiple signs of impairment and due to the suspicion SFSTs were conducted. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. Further investigation revealed the true name of the Suspect and DOB confirmed through AFIS Livescan. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect real name confirmed a District of Columbia ID card with no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. |
