DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE + POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE NO PERMIT POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE - MISD 0:03:00 260412001141 R/O responded to canvass for a vehicle reported to be driving in a reckless manner. R/O located a vehicle matching the lookout in the 100 Block of Second Street SE. R/O observed the vehicle pull over at this location striking the curb. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Second Street SE. Upon approach, the driver became belligerent, as R/O gave several commands for the driver turn off the vehicle. R/O could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver, revealed no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed a plastic cup full of a liquid which smelled of an alcoholic beverage and several other open containers containing alcoholic beverages. A labeled prescription pill bottle containing 8 pills were not in the Suspects name and located in the driver side door.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 4:34:00 260412001146 R/O observed a vehicle sit through two full cycles of the lights at the intersection of Eighth Street and Massachusetts Avenue NE. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same area. R/O observed a 375mL open container of Hennessy alcoholic beverage. R/O observed the Suspect's eyes were watery and glassy and the speech was also slurred and slow to respond to R/O's questions. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During inventory of the vehicle, another 375mL bottle was found in the rear passenger side floorboard. This bottle contained a clear liquid. Both bottles smelled of an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage. R/O also located a bag of a green leafy substance located in the center console.
TRAFFIC DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGSPOSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) NO PERMIT 3:20:00 260412001143 R/O was flagged down by a motorist about a vehicle driving recklessly and the driver possibly under the influence. R/O located the vehicle parked on the South curb in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A welfare check was conducted at the same location. Upon approach, R/O could immediately smell an odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle and also observed what appeared to be an open bottle of alcohol in the front cup holder. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, a glass bottle of Tequila was discovered in the front cup holder. The contents of the bottle were consistent with an alcoholic beverage.
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - SECOND OFFENSE + NO PERMIT COUNTERFEIT TAGS POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 7:50:00 260412001148 R/O observed a vehicle traveling with what appeared to be a counterfeit temporary tag in the 100 Block of H Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag confirmed it belonged to a Tesla product although it was affixed to a Jeep product. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of K Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. During the course of the investigation, R/O observed the temporary tag was printed stating it belonged to a Jeep product. Additionally, R/O detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle and the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed two 50mL empty bottles of an alcoholic beverage located inside the vehicle.
DRVING UNDER INFLUENCE 1ST OFF + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) 23:47:00 260412001142 R/O observed a vehicle make an illegal U-turn and fail to maintain their lane of travel in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of C Street SW. Upon approach, R/O observed the Suspect was very slow moving and taking additional time responding to R/O commands. R/O requested the Suspects license, registration and proof of insurance in which the Suspect had trouble gathering due to slow movement and being lethargic. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O could detect a moderate odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspects breath and vehicle. Additionally, R/O observed a clear cup of brown liquid on the drivers side floorboard. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O observed two small containers filled with blue jello substance that had a consistent odor to be an alcoholic beverage located in the center console. In the front passenger area there was several empty 375 ML bottles and several 1.75 liter bottles of cognac that was found.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE 1:39:00 260411001130 R/O observed a vehicle sitting idle through the entirety of a green signal at the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and D Street NE. R/O observed the drivers slumped over behind the wheel. The driver then passed through the red signal and turned onto North Capitol Street NE while straddling oncoming traffic lanes. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NE. While speaking with the driver, their responses were sluggish. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS X2 DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - SECOND OFFENSE 10:29:00 260411001134 R/O observed Vehicle-1 traveling with registration returning to a different vehicle in the Unit Block of M Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of Suspect-1 revealed a cancelled permit in the District of Columbia and no valid permit in Maryland or Virginia. Suspect-1 was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During R/O's traffic stop, Vehicle-2 arrived on scene displaying the same registration as Vehicle-1. A WALES/NCIC check of Vehicle-2 revealed the registration returned to a different vehicle. A/O-1 and A/O-2 observed Suspect-2 had rapid and stuttered speech and their eyelids, jaw, and hands were twitching. SFSTs were conducted. Due to numerous signs of impairment, Suspect-2 was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - SECOND OFFENSE + NO PERMIT SECOND OFFENSE 4:44:00 260411001132 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW with expired tags. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the expired status. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a revoked Virginia drivers license and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. R/O smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed the drivers eyes were red and watery. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE + DISTRIBUTION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE SPEEDING AND RECKLESS DRIVING POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 3:30:00 260411001131 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the Unit Block of H Street NW at a high rate of speed and passing a red traffic signal at the intersection of North Capitol and H Streets NW. The vehicle passed another red signal at First and H Streets NE. The vehicle sped away and made several abrupt maneuvers almost striking another vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the 600 Block of H Street NE. R/O smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed the drivers eyes were red and watery. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed an open bottle of Tequila in the trunk. While at prisoners processing, officers discovered the Suspect left five (5) small clear plastic bags containing a powdery substance in the transport vehicle. An additional bag containing a brownish substance was discovered in the Suspects immediate possession. CSS responded to process the scene. A portion of the powdery substance was field tested presumptive positive for cocaine. CID was notified.
NO PERMIT 20:28:00 260411001140 R/O observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and change lanes without a signal at the intersection of Washington Avenue and D Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed an expired vehicle registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Second Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended status out of Maryland, and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
