AGGRAVATED ASSAULT KNOWINGLY GRAVE RISK + ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER (AGGRAVATED ASSAULT) RESISTING ARREST UNLAWFUL ENTRY 8:14:00 250826002771 R/O observed an individual climbing over bike racks blocking access to a restricted section on the Rotunda Steps of the U.S. Capitol Building. Despite R/O's warnings and commands to stop, the individual continued into the restricted area. As officers attempted to effect arrest, the Suspect resisted by clenching their arms and hands into their chest. Furthermore, the Suspect bit the hand of one of the assisting officers. Once under control, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT + SPEEDING AND RECKLESS DRIVING 15:50:00 250826002776 R/O responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 600 Block of Third Street NE. Upon arrival, R/O discovered both the Complainant and driver of the vehicle involved in the accident. The Complainant stated they were initially inside the vehicle arguing with the driver when they demanded to be let out upon feeling unsafe due to the speed they were travelling. As the Complainant exited the vehicle and attempted to retrieve their belongings, the driver pulled away, knocking the Complainant to the ground and driving over their left hand in the process. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) + POSS. OF UNREG. AMMO, UNLAWFUL POSS./TRANSFER OF LARGE CAPACITY AMMO FEEDING DEVICE, POSS. OF UNREG. FIREARM/UNLAWFUL POSS. OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE, UNLAWFUL ACTIVITIES 09:02:00 250826002772 R/O observed an individual submit to a voluntary administrative search upon entering a House Office Building. During the course of that search, two handgun magazines loaded with ammunition were discovered amongst the individual's belongings. The individual subsequently consented to a search of their vehicle, which resulted in the discovery of a handgun loaded with a magazine containing nineteen rounds of ammunition, as well as twenty additional loose rounds of ammunition. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit revealed the individual did not possess a license to carry a pistol, nor was their firearm registered, in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CCS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
NO PERMIT + COUNTERFEIT TAGS 15:40:00 250826002777 R/O observed a vehicle with what appeared to be counterfeit Virginia temporary tags travelling in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of tags revealed they were expired despite displaying a date indicating they were still valid. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's VIN confirmed it was not properly registered. Furthermore, a WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 14:16:00 250825002759 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags travelling in the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the driver had a suspended Virginia operator's permit and no permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 250825002753 R/O observed a vehicle proceed through a red traffic signal at the intersection of South Capitol Street and N Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1300 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Maryland operators permit and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 13:56:00 250825002761 R/O conducted a routine security check of an individual who submitted themselves to the administrative screening process at the Off-Site Delivery Center. A subsequent WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the individual was subject to an extraditable warrant issued out of Baltimore County, Maryland. Once Communications confirmed the warrant, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL (POCA) SPEEDING AND RECKLESS DRIVING 23:47:00 250824002752 R/O responded to a radio assignment for a vehicle rollover crash at the I-395 ramp located at Washington Avenue and C Street SW. Upon arrival, R/O observed the driver with red eyes and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the drivers breath. The driver stated they took the exit too fast and hit the curb. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, an open bottle of Tequila was located within the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
TRAFFIC- NO VALID PERMIT + FAILURE TO APPEAR 15:13:00 250824002750 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 500 Block of Second Street NE with an obstructed rear tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the driver did not possess a valid operators permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia and had an active bench warrant through the District of Columbia. The warrant was confirmed through USCP Communications. The Suspect was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT x3 21:51:00 250824002751 R/O responded to radio assignment at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE, for a report of a fight possibly involving a weapon. As R/O arrived on scene, they observed two of the four involved individuals with visible injuries. While conducting the investigation, it was determined three of the four individuals were involved in a physical altercation and the fourth individual was merely a witness. A surveillance video captured the incident and confirmed the three individuals assaulted one another. All three Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
