CONTEMPT OF CPO/TPO 18:16:00 250821002724 R/O observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations, to include failing to maintain its lane of travel while driving in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Constitution Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had an active protection order against the registered owner of the vehicle, who was subsequently identified as the individual sitting in the front passenger seat. Once Communications confirmed the protection order was valid, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS) + POSS. OF UNREG. FIREARM / UNLAWFUL POSS. OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE UNLAWFUL POSS. OF AMMO, POSS. OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMO FEEDING DEVICE 10:02:00 250821002723 R/O observed an individual illegally parked in a spot reserved for permitted vehicles in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. As R/O spoke with the occupant of the vehicle, the individual advised they were armed with a handgun. The occupant then consented to a search of their belongings, which resulted in the recovery of a handgun loaded with a 15-round magazine containing 12 rounds of ammunition. While the individual presented a valid Maryland handgun permit, an inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit revealed they did not possess a license to carry a pistol, nor was their firearm registered, in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 1:42:00 250820002710 R/O observed a vehicle drive through the solid red light at the intersection of 2nd Street and H Street NE and fail to maintain its lane. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of H Street NE. Upon approach of the vehicle, R/O could detect a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. The Suspect was slow to respond to questions and had glassy eyes. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + NO PERMIT ALTERED TAGS 18:26:00 250820002717 R/O observed a vehicle idling in the roadway in the 400 Block of Third Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags revealed they expired in June of 2023. The R/O observed a sticker saying 2025 displayed on the rear tag. A stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended license in Virginia with no valid status in the District of Columbia, or Maryland. While speaking with the Suspect R/O noticed an odor of marijuana and an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle, and that the Suspect was slurring their words. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT + ALTERED TAGS 16:57:00 250820002715 R/O observed a vehicle displaying an improperly affixed expiration sticker traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. The sticker had an expiration date of April 2026. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed it expired in April of 2024. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of C Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended license in Maryland with no valid status in the District of Columbia, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 18:30:00 250819002704 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired registration in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed an expired Maryland drivers license and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 20:23:00 250819002705 R/O observed a vehicle traveling south in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed expired tags. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an expired license out of the District of Columbia with no status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DESTROYING OR DEFACING BUILDINGS, STATUES OR MONUMENTS 13:30:00 250819002700 R/O while on patrol observed what appeared to be chalk writing on the side walk in the 100 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue NW. A/O 1-2 discovered additional chalk writing on the side walks in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NE, and in the Unit Block of First Street NE. CSS responded and processed the scene.
NO PERMIT 22:44:00 250819002708 R/O observed a vehicle with no passenger side mirror traveling northbound in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DEFACEMENT OF PUBLIC PROPERTY 15:11:00 250819002699 R/O observed a park bench with red writing on the surface in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NE. CSS responded and processed the scene.
