DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - FIRST OFFENSE 20:14:00 251020003284 R/O observed a vehicle that appeared to be disabled stopped in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. R/O approached the driver and observed the driver had slurred speech and appeared to be confused while speaking in incomplete sentences. A/O responded to the scene and detected a moderate odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emanating from the driver's breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 20:18:00 251020003285 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound in the 200 Block of D Street NE with no rear tags displayed. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of D Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Maryland license and no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DEFACE PRIVATE/PUBLIC PROPERTY 15:15:00 251018003277 R/O observed an electrical box defaced by red marker and a large sticker in the Upper Senate Park. A canvass of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. S/A was notified for further investigation.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 1:25:00 251018003273 R/O observed a vehicle travel at a high rate of speed in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. R/O observed the vehicle failed to maintain its lane. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of 4th Street NE. Upon approach, R/O detected a smell consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were refused. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
URINATING OR DEFECATING IN PUBLIC, RECKLESS DRIVING, POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 19:18:00 251018003278 R/O observed a vehicle cross the double yellow lines and travel eastbound in the westbound lanes in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW. The vehicle also entered the intersection at an unsafe rate of speed, nearly colliding with pedestrians in the crosswalk and the concrete median. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of G Street NE. The Suspect exited their vehicle and proceeded to urinate in front of the RO. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. An inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle was conducted and a 375ml bottle of alcohol was discovered in the glove compartment with a broken seal and a fourth of its contents missing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 0:16:00 251018003272 R/O observed a vehicle driving northbound in the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. R/O observed the vehicle drive through a solid red traffic signal and abruptly changed lanes without using the turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted in the 900 Block of South Capitol Street SW. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O observed the Suspect had slurred speech, was slow to respond to questions and eyes that were bloodshot, red and watery. R/O also detected a strong odor consistent with an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FLEEING FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, RECKLESS DRIVING, NO PERMIT, DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCEOF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 20:04:00 251018003279 R/O observed a vehicle travelling in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed the tags were, "in inventory", which is consistent with a misused tag in the RO's experience. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of D Street NW. While interviewing the Suspect, the RO noticed the odor of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. The Suspect was asked how much they had to drink and they denied having had anything to drink. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed only a Maryland identification card with no driving status in the District of Columbia and Virginia. While the RO was conducting the WALES/NCIC check, the Suspect fled the scene, driving through red lights at the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and D Street NW as well as the intersections of First and D Streets NW. The Suspect was also witnessed driving on the wrong side of the street in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A subsequent VIN check return revealed that the vehicle registration was expired as of 2024 and was registered to the Suspect. The RO provided a lookout to Metropolitan Police Department. The case has been forwarded to CIS for further investigation.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 23:11:00 251017003271 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW with the front bumper dragging and the vehicle unable to maintain its lane. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same area. A WALES/NCIC check of the tags came back as invalid. The Suspect was unable to provide any documentation for the ownership of the tag. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O observed lethargic behavior and slurred speech. SFSTs were conducted. During the SFSTs, the Suspect paused to urinate on the sidewalk. Due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 16:18:00 251017003269 R/O was approached while on patrol in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW by an individual with an active warrant. A stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an extraditable warrant out of the State of California. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE (OUTSIDE HOME OR PLACE OF BUSINESS), POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM, POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION, POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE 15:51:00 251016003262 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags travelling in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted at the same location. Further investigation confirmed the tags were expired, so the process of towing the vehicle from the scene was initiated. While inventorying the items within the vehicle, R/O discovered a portable gun safe securing a handgun loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, as well as a spare magazine containing 10 rounds of additional ammunition. An inquiry through the Metropolitan Police Department's Gun Registration Unit revealed the sole occupant of the vehicle did not possess a license to carry a pistol, nor was the firearm registered, in the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-1 and A/O-2 responded to process the scene. S/A-1 and S/A-2 were advised of the offense.
