RO conducted a traffic stop at 50 Constitution Avenue NE. A WALES / NCIC check revealed the driver had no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| UNREGISTERED FIREARM + UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION | 17:11:00 | 251119003519 | R/O-1 discovered an empty handgun holster while performing an administrative search in the Capitol Visitor Center. CIS responded for further investigation. Upon further investigation, the Suspect claimed that they had a handgun in their hotel room. The Suspect consented to a search of the hotel room and signed a written consent form. SOD & CIS responded to the hotel to conduct the search. During the search, a .45 caliber Sig Sauer was found with ten rounds of .45 caliber ammunition. Two additional feeding devices were found in a leather shoulder holster both containing eight rounds of ammunition. At approximately 1711 hours, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

The Complainant stated their mail was opened and a challenge coin was removed and taken. The Complainant confirmed with the sender the coin was in the envelope when mailed. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |
| LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING - PERSONAL INJURY | 19:27:00 | 251118003504 | R/O responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of First and D Streets NE. Upon arrival, R/O was advised a passing vehicle's side mirror struck an individual in the arm while they were within the crosswalk at that location. The vehicle briefly stopped but then drove away without checking on the status of the other person involved in the accident. Initial attempts to locate the striking vehicle met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate the offense. | |
| DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL | 1:48:00 | 251118003498 | R/O observed a vehicle stopped in the 300 Block of Third Street SE with their hazard lights illuminated and drivers door open. The vehicle turned into the 300 Block of North Carolina Avenue SE. A traffic stop was conducted at that same location. While conversing with the driver, R/O smelled a moderate odor consistent to an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver's breath. R/O noticed what appeared to be a bottle of alcohol on the passenger side floorboard. SFST's were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A search of the vehicle revealed a bottle of liquid in the center console consistent with the smell of alcohol. | |

A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed the vehicle's registration was suspended. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a suspended Maryland operator's permit and no permit status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
| THEFT SECOND DEGREE (THEFT FROM BUILDING) | 16:49:00 | 251118003502 | R/O-1 and R/O-2 responded to a report of a theft on Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon their arrival, they were advised two individuals entered the store at that location, grabbed some merchandise off of a display shelf, and then fled the scene on foot. Immediate attempts to locate the Suspects met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate the offense. | |

The Complainant stated the Suspect grabbed her ear causing her to fall. A lookout for the Suspect was broadcast and a canvass was conducted with negative results. | |

The vehicle continued northbound through the Third Street tunnel and striking two construction barrels on the shoulder in the tunnel. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of New York Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed a suspended Maryland operators permit with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. A WALES/NCIC of the Virginia tag revealed an attempt to locate from MPD for an assault. The MPD Detective confirmed they will be pursing charges against the Suspect for simple assault. The Suspect was placed under arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A WALES/NCIC of the tag confirmed its expired status. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a revoked Virginia operators permit with no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
