A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of H Street NE. A close inspection of the vehicle revealed counterfeit tags. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O smelled the odor of alcohol emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

During the course of questioning, the Suspect admitted they had a firearm in their vehicle. While conducting an investigative search of the vehicle, TAS located a firearm underneath the driver's seat. An inquiry through MPD Gun Registry Unit revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry a firearm or ammunition in the District of Columbia. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
