The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
No Permit | DCC 50DC1401.01 | DCC 50DC1401.01(D) 18:29:00 240130000000 R/O observed a vehicle traveling westbound on D Street NE with a piece of paper in place of a valid tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of D Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE + NO PERMIT DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 01:25:00 240129000000 R/O while on patrol in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE conducted a WALES/NCIC check on a vehicle's tag which revealed it belonged to another vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same location. The driver exited the vehicle then reentered and fled eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. Shortly after, facing oncoming units, the vehicle came to a stop in the 400 Block of First Street NE. While conversing with the Suspect, R/O noticed a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from their person. Additionally, a WALES/NCIC inquiry revealed the Suspect did not possess a valid operator's permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were partially administered, however due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
Driving Under The Influence Of Alcohol Or Drugs | DCC 50DC2206.11 + No Permit | DCC 50DC1401.01 | DCC 50DC1401.01(D) Failure To Obey Officer | DCMR 18DCMR2000.2 Possession Prohibited Weapon - other | DCC 22DC4514B Loaning Registration, Misuse 01:08:24 240129000000 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired tag, traveling southbound in the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed it to belong to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was attempted at the intersection of South Capitol and I Street SW, upon which the Suspect exited the vehicle. R/O ordered the Suspect to re-enter the vehicle. The Suspect proceeded to flee in the Unit Block of I Street SW. The Suspect was apprehended in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed a suspended California drivers permit with no status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O located a large machete underneath the drivers seat. A/O conducted an administrative search of the Suspect's possessions and discovered a baggie of a white powdered substance. CSS conducted a field test of the powder, which yielded a positive result for Fentanyl. SFSTs were conducted on the Suspect, who displayed multiple signs of impairment.
FLEEING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE + NO PERMIT DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 19:56:00 240128000000 R/O observed a vehicle driving northbound in the 300 Block of Second Street NE with an expired registration. R/O attempted a traffic stop in the intersection of Second and D Streets NE. The vehicle fled and was last seen as it travelled northbound in the 500 Block of Second Street NE, at a high rate of speed while disobeying multiple traffic laws, as pursuit was abandoned. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
SHOPLIFTING + FAIL TO OBEY OFFICER FALSE STATEMENTS 20:48:00 240128000000 R/O responded to the 600 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE to assist with a theft in progress. A/O made contact with the Suspect who provided a name then fled the scene. Upon arrival, R/O witnessed the Suspect fleeing as A/O ordered the Suspect to stop. R/O was able to apprehend the Suspect in the 600 Block of C Street SE. The Complainant identified the Suspect and advised the officers the Suspect was attempting to exit the store with merchandise without paying.The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. R/O later recovered the merchandise and learned the Suspect provided a false name.
SIMPLE ASSAULT + DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000 16:26:00 240127000000 R/O responded to the Unit Block of E Street NW for the report of simple assault. Upon approach, the Complainant reported the Suspect grabbed their shoulder and broke their purse strap while dragging them towards a vehicle. The assault and destruction of property was verified by two (2) Witnesses. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE + RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE NO PERMIT 23:29:00 240127000000 R/O responded to the 900 Block of South Capitol Street SW for a report of a stolen vehicle that was in the area. After canvasing the area, R/O located the vehicle driving in the 1500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted at that location. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the vehicle was stolen and the Suspect did not have a valid driver's license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified for further investigation.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT - OPERATING AFTER SUSPENSION + FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE BENCH WARRANT / FAILURE TO APPEAR 11:56:00 240126000000 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired Virginia temporary tag, and travelled in the 100 Block of Third Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC inquiry was initiated, and revealed the Suspect operated the vehicle on a suspended District of Columbia license, with no status in Maryland or Virginia. Additionally, the Suspect had an active warrant held by the Arlington County Police Department, and another held by the D.C. Superior Court. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters, and processed.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT - REVOKE | DCC 50DC1403.01 [3] 1 + DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 2ND OFFENSE / DCC 50DC2201.05 [B]1[B] X POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL | DCC 25DC1001 17:30:00 240126000000 R/O observed a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lanes in the 100 Block of D Street NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 400 Block of Second Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's driver's license was revoked in the District of Columbia, with no status in Maryland or Virginia. While speaking with the suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted, and confirmed the Suspect was impaired. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. An inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle revealed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage on the front passenger seat.
