A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications revealed the Suspect had an active warrant status with the United States Marshals Service. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID | DCC 50DC1401.01 + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: TRAFFIC - LOANING REGISTRATION ,MISUSE OF TAGS | DCMR 18DCMR1101.1 | 01:28:00 | 231231002956 | R/O observed a vehicle displaying Maryland tags driving Southbound in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NW. The vehicle then turned right at the intersection of North Capitol Street and E Streets NW without using a proper turn signal. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicles tag revealed that the tags were expired and that they belonged to another vehicle. R/O also noticed that the Suspect had difficulty operating the vehicle causing the vehicle to stall and roll backwards towards R/Os patrol vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 300 Block of E Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed that the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
NO PERMIT | DCC 50DC1401.01 | DCC 50DC1401.01 (D) + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESSION OF OPEN CONATINER OF ALCOHOL - VEHICLE | DCC 25DC1001(A)(2)(D) DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF | DCC 50DC2201.05[B][1] X | 02:15:00 | 231231002957 | R/O observed a vehicle with no running lights traveling westbound on D Street NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of D Street NW. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O detected a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the Suspects breath. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspects license revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia and no status in Maryland or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, A/O found an open bottle of tequila on the passenger floor and an additional brown bottle of tequila on the front right passenger seat. | |
DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE – 1ST OFF | DCC 50DC2201.05[B][1] X + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER (POCA) | DCC 25DC1001 | 07:40:00 | 231230002953 | R/O and A/O-1 responded to a call for an individual asleep behind the wheel in the 100 Block of First Street NW (Peace Circle). A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. Upon approach, R/O knocked on the window and the Suspect lowered the drivers side window. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person. At the request of the Suspect, A/O-2 went to retrieve the Suspect's cell phone and discovered a plastic disposable bottle on the front passenger floor that contained a liquid, golden in color. The contents from the bottle were from an alcoholic beverage. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of D Street NE. A WALES/NCIC revealed the Suspect's Maryland license was suspended with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
UUV - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFF - FELONY RECKLESS DRIVING - MISD TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - LEAVING SCENE - PROPERTY DAMAGE RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO INTERSTATE | 12:38:00 | 231228002942 | R/O observed a vehicle driving erratically in the 200 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Prince George's County, Maryland. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE. R/O approached the vehicle, opened the driver door, and gave the Suspect verbal commands to exit the vehicle. The Suspect accelerated the vehicle, striking a USCP police cruiser and the vehicle fled westbound on Independence Avenue SW at a high rate of speed. A/O pursued the vehicle before losing sight of it traveling southbound in the 200 Block of Third Street SW. After canvasing the area, the vehicle was found unoccupied and parked in the 300 block of Third Street SE. A search of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS responded to the scene and will continue to investigate. | |
CDW OUTSIDE HOME OR BUSINESS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON - OTHER | 16:09:00 | 231226002937 | R/O made contact with the Suspect on the sidewalk near the Senate Egg of the U.S. Capitol Building's East Front, The Suspect stated that they believed armed people wanted to harm them. As the conversation progressed, the Suspect pulled out a kitchen knife from their pocket and placed it on a nearby wall. When R/O secured the kitchen knife, the Suspect raised their sweatshirt to reveal a machete that was tucked into the waistband of their pants. The Suspect stated both weapons were to be used as protection against those who wanted to harm them. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene. | |

CREDIT CARD FRAUD - MISD | 12:56:00 | 231226002932 | R/O received a report of credit card fraud believed to have originated on U.S. Capitol Grounds. Per the Complainant, multiple purchases were made using their credit card in an Office Building cafeteria on December 21, 2023. Shortly thereafter, the Complainant received a notice from their bank requesting verification of suspected fraudulent charges. Upon reviewing their account, the Complainant discovered multiple unauthorized transactions. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. |
