UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE 21:09:00 240512001171 Officer Fix (FRU-3) was approached by an individual, who wanted to report a suspected vehicle break in. The Complainant stated that they last used their vehicle on/about Tuesday, April 30, 2024 when it was parked in Lot 1 at approximately 1730 hours. When the Complainant returned to the vehicle on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 2030 hours, the doors were closed and papers from the glovebox were spread across the front seat. Upon inspection of the vehicle, R/O did not find any visible damage or signs of tampering. (ms)
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE 23:41:00 240511001168 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY FLEEING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, RECKLESS DRIVING LEAVING AFTER COLLIDING NO PERMIT Officer Cruz (SOD-2) monitored a lookout for a carjacked vehicle, and then observed the vehicle in the Unit Block of H Street NW. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC inquiry which confirmed the stolen status. R/O and Assisting Officer Dias (SOD-2) attempted to conduct a traffic stop at Fifth and K Streets NW. The vehicle fled, and then collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Fifth and M Street NW. The Suspect exited the vehicle, and fled on foot. R/O gave chase, and apprehended the Suspect in the 1300 Block of Fifth Street NW. A WALES/NCIC of the Suspect revealed a suspended operators permit in Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. (eb)
NO PERMIT 22:40:00 240510001166 Officer Krause (SD-3) observed a vehicle with an expired tag, and travelled westbound in the 400 Block of Louisiana Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended Virginia permit, with no status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. (ab)
CARRYING A PISTOL WITHOUT A LICENSE 15:25:00 240510001162 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: FELON IN POSSESSION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED AMMUNITION POSSESSION OF UNREGISTERED FIREARM / UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM OR DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE NO PERMIT COUNTERFEIT TAGS FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE FAILURE TO APPEAR Officer Griffin (SOD-3) observed a vehicle that displayed an expired tag, and travelled westbound in the 100 Block of Constitution Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of the vehicle revealed no registration on file. A WALES/NCIC of the Suspect revealed two confirmed outstanding warrants issued by the Queen Anne’s County Sherriff's Department, and the District of Columbia Superior Court. The records check also revealed no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, Assisting Officer Seanor (SOD-3) observed a handgun in the cargo area. Technician Rojas (CCS) responded, and processed the scene. The recovered handgun was loaded with two rounds of ammunition. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. S/A Gonzalez (CIS) was notified, and will continue to investigate. (eb)
SIMPLE ASSAULT 11:07:00 240509001154 Officer Begendorf (SOD-1) responded to 200 Massachusetts Avenue NE for a report of an assault. The Complainant stated that the Suspect spit on him and struck him in the neck. After the assault, the Suspect fled the scene. A canvass of the area was conducted with negative results. (br)
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE - 1ST OFF 15:00:00 240509001143 Officer Carll (SOD-3) observed a vehicle in the 100 Massachusetts Avenue NE with an expired tag. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the same location. Upon approach, R/O smelled a strong odor of marijuana that emanated from the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrested and transported to Headquarters for processing. (lg)
THEFT FROM OFFICE 09:20:00 240509001135 Officer Aiello (HD-2) responded to the Cannon House Office Building Room 572 for a report of a theft. The Complainant stated someone stole the flag that was hanging outside of their office sometime within the last few days. A canvass of the area was met with negative results. (eb)
UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE - FELONY 04:42:00 240509001132 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE LARCENY (THEFT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS OR ACCESSORIES) DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL Officer Rodriguez (FRU-3) heard a loud crash in the area of the Unit Block of First Street NW. R/O later observed the Suspect stumbling out of a golf cart that had crashed. As R/O approached, he smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect’s breath. The Suspect admitted to drinking alcohol and taking the golf cart from the Capitol Grounds prior to crashing the vehicle. Further investigation revealed front end damage to the golf cart and an open bottle of alcoholic beverage inside of the vehicle. SFSTs later confirmed the Suspect’s impairment status. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. Technicians Orndorf and Combs (CSS) responded to process the scene. (eb)
Disorderly Conduct Disrupting a Public Building (M) | DCC 22DC1321(C-1) 10:18:00 241000000000 R/O responded to a room in the Dirksen Senate Office Building for the report of an active demonstration. R/O arrived at the location to see the Suspect yelling and disrupting a hearing. The Suspect was given a warning to cease and desist their disruptive activities but failed to do so. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to HeQ for processing.
THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM 2:14:00 241000000000 R/O responded to 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE for a report of an individual with a gun. The Complainant stated they were approached by the Suspect who threatened to kill them while brandishing a handgun. A search of the area for the Suspect was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
