A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW. Upon approach, A/O detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. R/O conducted SFST’s. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Third Street SW. While speaking with the driver, R/O could detect a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage and a moderate odor consistent with marijuana emitting from the vehicle. SFST’s were administered, and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (dw) | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the intersection of Second Street and Maryland Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's Maryland State Identification Card revealed no driving status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. R/O asked the Suspect to exit the vehicle several times in which the Suspect failed to comply. A/O opened the Suspect's door and he reluctantly exited the vehicle. Search incident to arrest revealed a loaded firearm below the Suspect's belt. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene. While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, an additional loaded magazine was recovered in the glove compartment. S/A confirmed through a WALES/NCIC check that the firearm was not registered in the District of Columbia. (dw) |
