TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 12:24:00 221221001961 R/O observed a vehicle with a tag being displayed in the rear window traveling westbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag returned to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon approach, R/O smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed an open container of alcohol in the center console. SFST's were conducted; due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (mf)
FRAUD - $1000 OR OVER - FELONY 11:40:00 221221001959 R/O placed the Suspect under arrest for a warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court for passing an altered check at the Congressional Federal Credit Union. A WALES/NCIC check also revealed an active arrest warrant issued by Virginia State Police. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. (mf)
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 12:33:00 221221001965 R/O observed a vehicle with expired tags traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not have a valid driver's license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. A WALES/NCIC records check also confirmed the Suspect had an active warrant out of Fairfax County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (mf)
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 12:33:00 221221001965 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW with expired tags. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW. S1 announced that he did not have a driver's license. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not have a valid license status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The WALES.NCIC check also revealed an active warrant out of Fairfax County, Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (em)
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 00:20:00 221218001945 R/O observed a vehicle at the intersection of South Capitol and E Streets SE/SW drive through a red light. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of E Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended permit in Georgia with no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (ab)
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 23:46:00 221218001947 R/O observed a vehicle driving the wrong way southbound in the northbound lanes of the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW. The vehicle then drove across 5 lanes of traffic and continued southbound into the 200 Block of Second Street SW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Second Street SW. An NCIC/WALES check revealed no valid permit status in Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. R/O conducted SFST's; due to several signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (jel)
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 20:51:00 221217001944 R/O observed a vehicle in the 200 Block of Second Street NE displaying a tag with an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. The Suspect did not provide a driver's license upon request. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the displayed tag was registered to a different vehicle and the Suspect had no valid permit status in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (ab)
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 23:14:00 221215001934 R/O responded to the 400 Block of Second Street SW for a radio run of a suspected impaired driver attempting to leave the parking lot (LOT 9). Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person, their eyes appeared to be watery, and their speech was slurred and slow to react to questioning. SFST's were administered and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.(ab)
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 09:44:00 221211001910 ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS R/O observed a vehicle with front-end damage traveling in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's Virginia tags revealed they were not on file. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's VIN revealed it was last registered in Maryland, but the tags were marked as returned. Furthermore, a WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the individual did not have a valid license issued through Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR 00:25:00 221211001904 ADDITIONAL CHARGE: RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO R/O observed a vehicle in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, NE, matching the description of a lookout broadcasted over the radio by MPD. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect was subject to a bench warrant issued through the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. MPD's Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the vehicle.
