Upon approach, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath and person, their eyes appeared to be watery, and their speech was slurred and slow to react to questioning. SFST's were administered and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.(ab) | |
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID | 09:44:00 | 221211001910 | ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS R/O observed a vehicle with front-end damage traveling in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's Virginia tags revealed they were not on file. A traffic stop was subsequently conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's VIN revealed it was last registered in Maryland, but the tags were marked as returned. Furthermore, a WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed the individual did not have a valid license issued through Maryland, Virginia, or the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR | 00:25:00 | 221211001904 | ADDITIONAL CHARGE: RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO R/O observed a vehicle in the unit block of Massachusetts Avenue, NE, matching the description of a lookout broadcasted over the radio by MPD. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect was subject to a bench warrant issued through the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. MPD's Crime Scene Unit responded and processed the vehicle. | |
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) | 22:24:00 | 221210001902 | ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG FIREARM - MISD; UNREG AMMO - MISD; POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction of traffic in the 500 block of C Street, NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of C Street, NE. Upon approaching the vehicle, R/O observed what appeared to be a firearm and a magazine on top of the front dashboard of the vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and recovered a .40 caliber pistol and one large capacity magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition. A WALES/NCIC check of the firearm revealed no registration in the District of Columbia. | |
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) | 13:05:00 | 221210001901 | ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREG FIREARM - MISD; UNREG AMMO - MISD; POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE; TRAFFIC - COUNTERFEIT TAGS; TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID; TRAFFIC - FAIL TO EXHIBIT; FELON IN POSSESSION / UNLAWFUL POSSESSION FIREARM R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the unit block of G Street, NE, pass his vehicle, going into the oncoming lane, and then failing to come to complete a stop at the stop sign at the intersection of First and G Streets, NE. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's tags, which returned to a different vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted in the unit block of Columbus Circle, NE. The Suspect refused to produce any form of government identification, and was subsequently placed under arrest. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. While conducting an inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, the R/O located a firearm, two magazines, and additional ammunition in a bag on the front passenger's seat. CIS was notified and advised the R/O that the Suspect was previously convicted of a felony. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the unit block of Third Street, NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the tag revealed the license plate was stolen. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's permit revealed no valid status in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland. TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 19:35:00 | 221205001857 | ADDITIONAL CHARGES: DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED-UNDER 21 R/O observed a vehicle turn onto C Street, SW, at a high rate of speed, coming to a stop at the barricade located at Washington Avenue, SW. R/O approached the vehicle and directed the driver to park the vehicle along the curb, which the Suspect was unable to do. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's Maryland driver's license confirmed the Suspect was under the age of 21. R/O asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, at which time R/O smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted and, due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
POSS OPEN CONTAINER ALCOHOL - POCA | 14:04:00 | 221205001854 | R/O was at Third Street and Madison Drive, NW, when he observed the Suspect holding an open container of alcohol. R/O ordered the Suspect to pour out the contents of the container at which time the Suspect refused to comply, and continued to drink from the container. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
