A traffic stop was attempted on the vehicle in the intersection of Columbus Circle and Louisiana Avenue, NE. The vehicle fled westbound on Louisiana Avenue at a high rate of speed while disobeying several traffic laws. The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound in the Unit Block of D Street, NW. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

As the officer stepped out of the vehicle to investigate, the Suspect punched the victim, with a closed fist, several times in the face. R/O approached and detained the Suspect without incident. The Suspect appeared to be heavily intoxicated. R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's breath. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During processing, the Suspect banged his head against the wall while sitting on the bench. A/O responded to Prisoner Processing for photographs. The Suspect then made threatening statements toward R/O and other officers. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's permit was revoked in Virginia, with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
