DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 19:40:00 2.41115E+11 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 200 Block of First Street NW with expired tags. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Louisiana Avenue NW. While speaking with the suspect, R/O detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
NO PERMIT 21:23:00 2.41115E+11 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 200 Block of Washington Avenue SW with an expired registration. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed an expired permit from Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 22:10:00 2.41115E+11 Officer Timothy Bergel (HD-3) observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW swerving lanes, braking unnecessarily and struck a curb. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the vehicle. SFSTs were administered and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. (eb)
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000 + DISORDERLY CONDUCT - CAUSE UNREASON FEAR 17:20:00 2.41114E+11 R/O was flagged down by a citizen who claimed an individual had just destroyed property within a store located at 318 Massachusetts Avenue NE. Upon approaching the place of business, R/O noticed its entrance sign was significantly damaged. Further investigation revealed the Suspect entered the store, made loud, racist comments that disturbed staff and customers, and proceeded to destroy the entrance sign, as well as other items within the store, upon being asked to leave. The Suspect was last seen walking westbound in the 300 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Attempts to locate the Suspect met with negative results. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was advised of the offense and will continue to investigate.
DEFACING PRIVATE/PUBLIC PROPERTY 10:06:00 2.41114E+11 R/O discovered graffiti on the bench and fountain within the Spirit of Justice Park located in the Unit Block of C Street SE. A permanent marker appeared to have been used to apply the graffiti as it could not be easily removed. Specialist Robinson (CSS) responded to process the scene.
PERMIT SUSPENDED-OAS + LOANING REGISTRATION, MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 16:57:00 2.41114E+11 R/O observed a vehicle that failed to use a proper turn signal while changing lanes in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed their District of Columbia operator's permit was suspended. A WALES/NCIC check of the temporary tag affixed to vehicle yielded no record on file. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II 18:23:00 2.41114E+11 R/O was flagged down for a report of theft from the place of business located at 15 I Street SE. The Complainant stated the Suspect entered the store, placed items in a black trash bag, and then exited without paying. While conducting a subsequent canvass of the area, R/O found the Suspect walking with a black trash bag in the rear alley of the Unit Block of M Street SE and immediately initiated a stop. The Complainant positively identified the Suspect as the individual who stole the items. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded to process the scene.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE + POSSESSION OF AN OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 9:38:00 2.41114E+11 R/O observed an individual consume alcohol direct from a clearly labeled bottle while sitting on a bench within Garfield Park. A stop was immediately initiated at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect was subject to an extraditable arrest warrant issued by the Tacoma Park (Maryland) Police Department, which was confirmed by Communications. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
SIMPLE ASSAULT 11:22:00 2.41113E+11 R/O observed an altercation in the cafeteria of a Senate Office Building. R/O observed the Suspect reach out and grab a flag wrapped around the Complainants neck, causing the Complaints head to jerk back. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + POSSESSION W/INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA-MISD 17:57:00 2.41113E+11 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound, in the 100 Block of Third Street SW, with an expired registration. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle revealed the registration was suspended out of Maryland. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. Upon approach, R/O noticed clouds of smoke and the odor consistent with marijuana emitting from the vehicle. SFST's were conducted and due to the numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest. During the search of the vehicle, R/O located a black bag in the center console. The contents in the bag were a small digital scale, small glass jars, and a plastic bag containing several rolled-up balls consistent with a green leafy substance. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing.
