DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - UNDER $1000 - MISD + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE - MISD ADW - VEHICLE 12:46:00 231017002406 R/O was flagged down in the 100 Block of North Carolina Avenue SE for the report of a vehicle break-in. The Complainant reported that they observed the Suspects inside of a van with the window broken out and glass on the ground. An immediate canvas of the area yielded negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 20:58:00 231017002411 R/O observed two motorized scooters with no tags displayed traveling southbound in the 400 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of both Suspects revealed no valid permits in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: TRAFFIC - ALTERED TAGS 15:24:00 231017002407 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW displaying an expired tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, and also an active warrant from the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 17:20:00 231017002409 CIS was contacted by a federal law enforcement agency that a person of interest was on U.S. Capitol Grounds. The FBI provided R/O with a description and photo of the Suspect as well as a warrant from the Eastern District of Virginia. R/O and A/O observed the Suspect matching the description inside a Senate Office Building. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: TRAFFIC - ALTERED TAGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING 23:15:00 231016002400 R/O observed a vehicle with no tags displayed, driving at a high rate of speed and passing through several solid red traffic lights without stopping. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Third Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CRUELTY TO CHILDREN - MISD +ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID 20:54:00 231015002393 R/O observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed through a solid red traffic signal in the intersection of South Capitol Street and Virginia Avenue SW. A traffic stop was initiated in the 700 Block of South Capitol Street SW. Upon approach, R/O noticed an unrestrained child in the backseat. While speaking with the Suspect, R/O observed that the Suspect had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes, and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from inside the vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. SFSTs were conducted. Due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFF-FELONY DC50-2201.05b(b)2 15:58:00 231015002391 R/O observed a vehicle in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE matching a lookout for a stolen vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check through USCP Communications confirmed the vehicle was stolen. R/O and A/O attempted a traffic stop at the intersection of New Jersey and Massachusetts Avenues NW. The vehicle fled westbound on Massachusetts Avenue NW at a high rate of speed, disregarding traffic laws. R/O and A/O pursued the vehicle until pursuit was terminated in the 1500 Block of Ninth Street NW.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN 00:53:00 231015002389 R/O was flagged down in the Unit Block of E Street NW for a report of a hit and run. The Complainant stated while travelling eastbound through a green traffic light, in the 100 Block of E Street NW they were struck on the passenger side by the Suspect's vehicle. A second Complainant reported to R/O that the Suspect's vehicle struck them twice and fled. The Suspect's vehicle was last seen fleeing northbound on New Jersey Avenue NW. A search of the area was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene.
THEFT I -STOLEN AUTO 18:00:00 231014002385 TAS responded to the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SE for the report of a stolen congressional fleet vehicle. The Complainant stated that a fleet vehicle was taken without permission on three separate occasions on September 26, 27, and 28, 2023. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
THREATS TO DO BODILY HARM-MISD 01:44:00 231014002381 R/O while on patrol responded to an MPD dispatch for the report of an individual being followed and threatened. R/O was flagged down at the intersection of Fourth and D Streets NW by an individual who appeared to be fearful and in distress. The Complainant stated that they were being followed and threatened by the Suspect. R/O conducted a canvass of the area and the Suspect was found in the 400 Block of 5th Street NW. A show-up was conducted with the Complainant, who positively identified the Suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
