CROWDING OBSTRUCTING INCOMMODING DC CODE 22-1307 10:46:00 231004002296 R/O-1 and R/O-2 responded to the Dirksen Senate Office Building for the report of a demonstration in a prohibited area. Upon arrival, the R/O-1 and R/O-2 found multiple Suspects chanting, holding signs, and blocking the hallway. The Suspects were given three warnings to cease and desist their demonstration activity but refused to do so. Eleven Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 14:51:00 231004002301 R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE displaying no front tag. A WALES/NCIC inquiry on the tag displayed revealed an expired registration. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 600 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN 08:29:00 231004002295 R/O was flagged down in the 500 Block of New Jersey Avenue NW, for a report of a hit and run. The Complainant stated they were pulling out of a parking spot when the Suspects vehicle struck their vehicle in the left rear and then fled northbound on New Jersey Avenue NW. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 12:12:00 231004002299 R/O while conducting a mandatory name check and screening of an individual at Offsite Screening Delivery Center, revealed an active, extraditable warrant out of Carroll County, Maryland. USCP Communications confirmed the warrant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT I -STOLEN AUTO + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE POSSESSION IMPLEMENTS OF CRIME RESISTING ARREST ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER PRISONER ESCAPE 09:28:00 231003002283 R/O was flagged down by the Complainant who reported their scooter was stolen from 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE. Video surveillance from Union Station captured the Suspect stealing the Complainants scooter, and a lookout was broadcast. A/O-1 observed the Suspect in possession of the scooter in the Unit Block of G Place NE. A/O-1 made contact with the Suspect and attempted to detain him. The Suspect resisted attempts to place him under arrest and attempted to flee. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the hospital. While at the hospital, the Suspect escaped. A/O-2 and A/O-3 chased the Suspect and regained control. The Suspect was transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded, and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT & RUN 11:36:00 231003002284 R/O responded to the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW for a report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, the R/O made contact with the Victim who stated both vehicles were traveling westbound in the 100 Block of Independence Avenue SW when the Suspect travelled over to the Victim's lane. The Suspect's vehicle front and rear driver side made contact with the Victim's front passenger side tire area and bumper. The Suspect fled westbound on Independence Avenue SW passing through several red traffic lights. All attempts to locate the vehicle were met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene, and will continue to investigate.
THEFT II 16:00:00 231003002294 R/O responded to the Botanic Garden for a report of a theft. R/O met with the Complainant who stated they had parked their bicycle in a secure location behind an administrative building at approximately 0915 hours. The bicycle was left unchained. When the Complainant returned at approximately 1420 hours the bicycle was no longer there. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER - MISDEMEANOR + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: HARBOR SWIMMING OR DIVING RESISTING ARREST 10:19:00 231003002290 R/O responded to the Unit Block of First Street NW for a Suspect swimming in the Capitol Reflecting Pool. R/O made several attempts to coax the Suspect out of the water. When the Suspect exited the pool, R/O and A/O attempted to take him into custody. The Suspect struck A/O and re-entered the Reflecting Pool. The Suspect eventually exited the Capitol Reflecting Pool, was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-FAIL TO EXHIBIT + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: MISUSE OF TEMPORARY TAGS 16:34:00 231003002292 R/O observed a vehicle displaying an expired tag traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of K Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 1200 Block of Fourth Street SE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags returned to a different vehicle, and that the Suspect's license was suspended in Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: POSSESION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL 01:09:00 231002002272 R/O observed a vehicle being driven without running lights at the intersection of Sixth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE. A traffic stop was initiated in the 500 Block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. During the course of the stop, the Suspect appeared easily confused and spoke unintelligibly. A/O responded to the scene and conducted SFSTs. Due to the numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a subsequent inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, an empty alcoholic beverage container was found under the driver's seat.
