UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: THEFT II-FROM AUTO 09:28:00 230801001804 R/O and A/O responded to the vicinity of North Capitol and H Streets NE upon receiving a lookout for a stolen vehicle in that area. After a brief canvas, the vehicle was found parked and unoccupied in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. Attempts to locate the driver of the vehicle met with negative results. A/O-2 responded, and processed the recovered vehicle. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed its front tag was missing despite being affixed to it at the time it was stolen. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY. RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY RECKLESS DRIVING - MISD TRAFFIC - PERMIT - NO VALID FLEEING FROM A POLICE OFF - FELONY DC50-2201.05B BENCH WARRANT - MISDEMEANOR FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 09:20:00 230801001799 R/O was spotted a stolen vehicle traveling southbound in the 700 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC inquiry confirmed the vehicle was stolen. R/O and A/O attempted to conduct a stop in the 100 Block of D Street NW at which time the vehicle fled southbound through the Third Street Tunnel then exiting southbound onto 695. R/O and A/O pursued the vehicle to the 2300 Block of Prout Street SE at which time the Suspects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Both Suspects #1 and #2 were apprehended in the area of Nicholson and Prout Streets SE. A WALES/NCIC inquiry of Suspect #1 revealed two (2) active warrants held by DC Superior Court and no permit status in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Both Suspects were transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O-2 responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY. ADDITIONAL CHARGE: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY $1000 OR MORE 08:09:00 230801001797 R/O observed a vehicle in the area of New Jersey and H Street NW that was registered as stolen earlier in the day. A WALES/NCIC inquiry confirmed the vehicle was stolen. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 600 Block of H Street NE. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing. A/O responded and processed the scene. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - MISUSE OF TAGS 00:53:00 230730001789 R/O observed a grey Nissan vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Second Street and Virginia Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of E Street SW. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the tags affixed to the Nissan were registered to a black Ford vehicle. The Suspect was placed under arrest and was transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS. ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - RECKLESS DRIVING FAILURE TO OBEY POLICE OFFICER 22:25:00 230730001787 R/O observed a vehicle driving 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and drifting across multiple lanes of traffic while travelling through the 300 Block of Washington Avenue SW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. Upon approaching the vehicle, R/O smelled the scent of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the driver's breath. The Suspect refused to participate in any SFSTs, but due to multiple signs of impairment, the individual was placed under arrest and taken to Headquarters for processing. As A/O attempted to inventory the vehicle prior to impounding it, a passenger who was riding in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop remotely locked the doors using the vehicle's key fob to prevent law enforcement personnel from gaining access. Despite repeated requests to hand over the key fob, the Suspect refused to comply. The Suspect was then placed under arrest and taken to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 23:32:00 230729001777 R/O observed a vehicle turn, without signaling, at the intersection of North Capitol Street and Louisiana Avenue NW. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 200 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect's permit revealed a suspended status through Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 15:35:00 230726001759 R/O observed a vehicle with heavy tint traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 200 Block of Fourth Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect held no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT-NO VALID 11:16:00 230726001755 R/O and A/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE make an unsafe lane change. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect's Maryland driver's license was suspended with no valid status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II 11:44:00 230724001742 R/O responded to the South Stone trailer of the U.S. Capitol Building for the report of a theft. The Complainant reported that their bicycle was there at the start of their shift and was gone when they returned at the end of their shift. The USCP Command Center reviewed footage which revealed that the bicycle was stolen by an unknown male at 1148 hours. A canvas of the area was met with negative results. S/A was notified and will continue to investigate.
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR 17:37:00 230724001743 R/O responded to the Unit Block of Independence Avenue SW for a welfare check. Upon arrival, R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the individual which revealed a bench warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court. USCP Communications confirmed the bench warrant. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
