UNLAWFUL DISRUPTION OF CONGRESS 14:50:00 240724001924 R/O responded to the House Chambers of the U.S. Capitol Building for a report of individuals demonstrating. Upon arrival, R/O was advised by A/O that a group of individuals stood up numerous times during the Joint Session and began yelling. The Suspects were arrested and processed at HQ
VANDALIZING, DAMAGING, DESTROYING, TAKING PROPERTY OF A GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 14:10:00 240724001927 R/O operating a marked cruiser followed an active demonstration group at Louisiana Avenue and D Street NE. R/O exited the vehicle and used it to block demonstrators from continuing to travel eastbound on D Street NE. Upon retuning to the vehicle, R/O discovered it had been vandalized with a permanent marker in 3 different areas. Crime Scene processed the scene.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT - HIT AND RUN 8:52:00 240723001912 R/O responded to the 100 Block Louisiana Avenue NW for a report of a traffic accident. Once on the scene, the Complainant stated an unknown vehicle struck their parked vehicle causing substantial damage and then fled the scene. A canvass for vehicle and witnesses was negative.
CROSSING A POLICE LINE 15:30:00 240723001917 R/O was assigned to the Civil Disturbance Unit for a protest in the Rotunda of a House Office Building and was tasked with helping form a police line in order to start executing arrests. When this police line was formed, a Suspect crossed the police line several times after being told to stop. The Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ processing.
CROWDING, OBSTRUCTING, OR INCOMMODING 15:10:00 240723001917 R/O observed the Suspects chanting loudly, holding up signs, and blocking access to the Rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building. The Suspects were warned to cease and desist their demonstration activity, but refused to do so. CSS responded and processed the scene. The Suspects were arrested.
NO PERMIT + DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE IN MOTOR VEHICLE 7:42:00 240721001902 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired Virginia tag traveling southbound in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the tags were expired in Virginia. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia. R/O noticed a strong odor of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle. SFSTs were conducted and due to multiple signs of impairment, the Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O found an open cup containing alcohol in the vehicle.
SIMPLE ASSAULT 0:16:00 240721001900 R/O was flagged down by the Complainant at the intersection of First Street and Louisiana Avenue NW, and reported an assault. The Complainant advised A/Os that they were physically assaulted by the Suspect at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE, and resulted in a laceration to the left side of their forehead. The Suspect fled the area, and was located by A/O at Third Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The Complainant positively identified the Suspect. The Suspect was arrested, and transported to HQ for processing. CSS processed the scene.
FLEEING A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER + RECKLESS DRIVING 20:29:00 240720001899 R/O observed a vehicle that travelled northbound in the Unit block of First Street NW. The Suspect turned right on a red light with a no turn on red sign, and into the Unit Block of Constitution Avenue NW. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. When R/O & A/O approached, they observed the Suspect seemed agitated and extremely nervous. While R/O wrote a notice of infraction, the Suspect sped away from the location in their vehicle without lights. CIS investigating.
NO PERMIT + DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS POSSESSION OF OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE IN MOTOR VEHICLE 19:06:00 240720001897 R/O observed a vehicle with no front tag displayed in the 600 Block of North Capitol Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the rear tag revelaed the tag came back to a different vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop in the 600 Block of First Street NE. Additionally, a WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed no valid permit in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. Suspect was arrested & processed at HQ.
NO PERMIT 0:20:00 240720001895 R/O observed a vehicle with an expired tag driving eastbound in the Unit Block of D Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect had a suspended permit through Maryland and no driving status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was arrested and transported to HQ for processing.
