R/O advised the Suspect their vehicle will be towed and to step out of the vehicle. The Suspect placed the vehicle in drive and proceeded eastbound on Massachusetts Avenue NE. The Suspect passed through a red signal and made several illegal maneuvers while fleeing. The Suspect was last seen entering the Third Street tunnel. A canvassed of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

OF OPEN CON | 23:37 | 250215000416 | R/O-1 and R/O-2 observed a vehicle make a U-turn through a red traffic light at the intersection of South Capitol and E Street SE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 400 Block of South Capitol Street SE. During the course of the stop, R/O's detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle and noticed the drivers eyes were glassy. R/O's requested the driver exit the vehicle twice in order to submit to SFSTs, but the driver refused to comply. Once an additional officer arrived on scene, the driver complied with R/O's instructions. SFSTs were conducted and revealed numerous signs of impairment. Furthermore, a WALES/NCIC check of the driver revealed they had a suspended Virginia operator's permit and no permit status in the District of Columbia or Maryland. Additionally, a WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle's tags revealed they were expired despite displaying stickers that indicated otherwise. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During a subsequent inventory search of the vehicle, a firearm loaded with a 17-round magazine and 17 rounds of ammunition was found under the front driver's side floor mat. An open bottle containing an alcoholic beverage was also found in the vehicle's rear center cupholder. CSS responded to process the scene. CIS was contacted and subsequently verified the Suspect had no license to carry a firearm in the District of Columbia nor did they have a firearm, or any associated ammunition, registered through the city's designated authorities. |
