A/O made contact with the Suspect who provided a name then fled the scene. Upon arrival, R/O witnessed the Suspect fleeing as A/O ordered the Suspect to stop. R/O was able to apprehend the Suspect in the 600 Block of C Street SE. The Complainant identified the Suspect and advised the officers the Suspect was attempting to exit the store with merchandise without paying.The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. R/O later recovered the merchandise and learned the Suspect provided a false name. | |

Upon approach, the Complainant reported the Suspect grabbed their shoulder and broke their purse strap while dragging them towards a vehicle. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the vehicle was stolen and the Suspect did not have a valid driver's license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CIS was notified for further investigation. | |

While speaking with the suspect, R/O detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage that emanated from the Suspect's breath. SFSTs were conducted, and confirmed the Suspect was impaired. The Suspect was placed under arrest, transported to Headquarters, and processed. An inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle revealed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage on the front passenger seat. | |
