TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 01:33:00 230715001647 R/O observed an individual asleep behind the wheel of their vehicle in the Unit Block of D Street NW. R/O conducted a welfare check at the same location. Upon approach, R/O observed two open bottles of beer located in the center cup holder. SFSTs were conducted, and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT I-FROM AUTO 16:34:00 230714001646 R/O responded to the intersection of First and East Capitol Streets for the report of a theft from auto. Upon arrival, the Complaint advised that they parked their vehicle at 0900 hours and when they returned at 1600 hours their luggage had been taken from their vehicle. A search of the area was met with negative results. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UUV - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY 11:02:00 230714001642 R/O observed a vehicle matching a lookout for a stolen vehicle in the 700 Block of H Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the vehicle confirmed it to be stolen. R/O attempted to stop the vehicle in the 900 Block of 10th Street NE. The vehicle fled and came to a stop in the 800 Block of 19th Street NE where the Suspects fled on foot. The Suspects were apprehended in the 900 Block of 19th Street NE, the 700 Block of 11th Street NE, and the 800 Block of 11th Street NE. The Suspects were placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
UNREG FIREARM - MISD + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: UNREGISTERED AMMO - MISD UNLAWFUL ACTIVIES 16:34:00 230714001644 R/O responded to the intersection of First and East Capitol Streets for the report of a theft from auto. The initial interview with the Complainant revealed the Complainant confessed to being in possession of a firearm inside of the vehicle. A/O confirmed there was a firearm in the glove box along with a South Carolina permit. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. CSS responded and processed the scene. An inquiry from the MPD Gun Registration Unit revealed the weapon was not registered in the District of Columbia. An inventory search of the vehicle revealed one round in the chamber, five rounds in the seven capacity magazine and an additional box containing twelve rounds of ammunition located in the center console. CIS responded to Headquarters to continue the investigation.
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE 11:19:00 230713001633 R/O observed a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE displaying a temporary tag not listed on file. R/O initiated a traffic stop in the same location. R/O conducted a WALES/NCIC check of the passenger revealing an active outstanding warrant out of Prince George's County, MD. USCP Communications confirmed the warrant and the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
THEFT II-FROM AUTO + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: UNLAWFUL ENTRY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE - MISD 07:40:00 230712001619 R/O responded to the Southeast Drive of the U.S. Capitol Building for a theft from auto report. The Complainant stated to R/O they parked at 0700 hours. The Complainant stated when they returned at 0900 hours, the driver's side door was opened slightly and multiple items were taken from the vehicle. The USCP Command Center reviewed surveillance footage and observed an unknown male Suspect enter the vehicle at 0808 hours and leave with the Complainants belongings. The area was canvassed with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate.
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS 03:00:00 230712001618 R/O observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 700 Block of North Capitol Street with no illuminating headlights. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of North Capitol Street. Upon approach, R/O noticed the Suspects slurred speech to which the Suspect admitted to having a few alcoholic beverages. SFSTs were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
BENCH WARRANT-MISDEMEANOR 16:07:00 230712001625 R/O responded to North Capitol Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW for a report of an assault. Once on the scene, R/O determined there was insufficient evidence to support the Complainants claim of an assault. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a confirmed bench warrant held by the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing.
TRAFFIC - PERMIT -OPERATING AFTER SUSPENSION 23:10:00 230711001617 R/O observed a vehicle with no headlights illuminated as it travelled eastbound in the 100 Block of Massachusetts Avenue NE. A traffic stop was conducted in the 500 Block of C Street NE. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspects license was suspended in the District of Columbia and Maryland, with no status through Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest, and transported to Headquarters for processing.
CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE (CPWL) + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS UNREG AMMO - MISD UNREG FIREARM - MISD POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE x 2 02:52:00 230711001610 R/O observed a vehicle with an individual asleep at the wheel while traveling south bound in the 500 Block of South Capitol Street SW. A traffic stop was conducted in the same location. While speaking with the driver, A/O detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the Suspect's vehicle. SFST's were conducted by A/O and due to numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. During an inventory search of the Suspect's vehicle, A/O discovered four loaded high capacity magazines and an unloaded firearm. CSS responded and processed the scene. CID was notified and will continue to investigate.
