The Complainant advised they parked their vehicle earlier in the day with no damage. When the Complainant returned, they observed a long scratch on the driver's side of the vehicle. R/O conducted a traffic stop at the same location. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a confirmed active warrant out of Maryland. The inquiry also revealed the Suspect had a suspended operators permit in Maryland, with no status in the District of Columbia or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
UUV - FELONY + ADDITIONAL CHARGES: CARRYING A PISTOL W/O A LICENSE UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON (DCMR) UNREG AMMO - MISD POSSESSION OF A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY - $1000 & OVER - FELONY | 13:32:00 | 230810001881 | R/O observed a vehicle traveling in the 400 Block of North Capitol Street NW with temporary tags and conducted a WALES/NCIC check. The inquiry revealed no listing for the tag. A traffic stop was conducted in the Unit Block of Columbus Circle NE. A WALES/NCIC check of the VIN revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Florida. During an inventory search of the vehicle, R/O discovered a firearm loaded with a large capacity feeding device containing multiple rounds of ammunition. A WALES/NCIC check revealed the Suspect did not possess a license to carry the pistol nor was the firearm registered in the District of Columbia. CSS responded to process the scene. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

A traffic stop was conducted in the 300 Block of Independence Avenue SW. A WALES/NCIC check of the Suspect revealed a suspended District of Columbia permit with no status in Maryland or Virginia. The Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |

Once on scene, R/O met with the Complainant and discovered the theft was captured on surveillance cameras. The video showed, on 08/10/2023 at 2200 hours, three unidentified Suspects stole the Complainants vehicle. A canvass of the area was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. THEFT I-FROM AUTO + ADDITIONAL CHARGE: DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY - $1000+ - FELONY | 11:52:00 | 230806001841 | R/O was flagged down in the Unit Block of Massachusetts Avenue NW for a report of a theft from auto. The Complainants advised R/O that they had parked their vehicle at approximately 0930 hours on August 6, 2023. Upon returning at approximately 1120 hours on the same date, they discovered their rear passenger window shattered and their bicycle missing. A search of the area was met with negative results. CSS responded and processed the scene. CIS was notified and will continue to investigate. | |

R/O conducted a traffic stop in the Unit Block of H Street NW. Upon approach, R/O noticed a faint odor of an alcoholic beverage. SFSTs were conducted. Due to the numerous signs of impairment, the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. | |
TRAFFIC - DUI ALCOHOL OR DRUGS | 04:38:00 | 230805001834 | R/O observed a vehicle driving westbound in the Unit Block of D Street NW, displaying an expired registration. R/O initiated a traffic stop in the 100 Block of D Street NW. A WALES/NCIC check confirmed the registration as expired. The Suspect was avoiding eye contact with R/O and appeared to be flush in the face. SFST's were conducted and due to numerous signs of impairment the Suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Headquarters for processing. |
